Life at SIIB

I have my background in bsc hons agriculture. This mba in agribusiness will align with my profile. This specialization here covers all the subjects related to agribusiness sector. Not only includes classroom teaching but also guest lectures by industry experts, industry visits, additional online certification courses, presentations, reports etc. All this prepares students to survive in the corporate world.

Students are offered summer internships at the end of 1 st year. GDPI rounds for internships start from September itself. All the students get placed into good reputed companies by the end of feb or starting of march. For agribusiness division, ITC, Advanta seeds, coramamdel, ADM, DCM etc etc. Many reputed companies come. Average package i would say would be 12-13 LPA. Highest might go upto 20 or above. The total fee for 2 years is 16,80,000 for agribusiness division. Fee has to be paid semester wise. No extra fee is collected during the course. It includes hostel and mess fees too. Few students with annual income below 6 lakh can apply scholarships at banks such as IDFC first bank , SBI etc which provide scholarship of around 2 lakh in total.

At symbiosis along with your academics , lots of events are conducted year along. There are more than 20 clubs and committees which keep conducting various events to keep students engaging. The library is well equipped with books, latest software and college also offers different softwares, online certification platforms for free during these 2 years Lots of sports competitions take place here conducted by sports committee. All kinds of sports are encouraged. Being a part of any of the committees helps us in many ways. MBA is all about stepping out of our comfort zone and building networks.

Rooms are large enough, well equipped with beda, cupboards, attached washrooms, mirrors etc. Maids are allotted for cleaning almost 3 times or more if you wish to in a week. Food is good, I wouldn't say great but its acceptable. They prepare variety of dishes which is very healthy and hygenic. Hostel registration is done on the day of arrival and room is pre fixed for 1st years. No extra fee is to be paid on that day.

Basically, my CAT didn't go as expected. So I couldn't make it to colleges that accept CAT as an entrance. If you look into agribusiness colleges that accept CAT - MANAGE, hyderabad VAMNICOM, Pune NIAM, Jaipur NAARM, hyderabad etc Due to my low score in cat i didn't get into any of these. I also had given SNAP exam through which i applied to SIIB, pune which was one of the best decisions i made back then. The college is excellent. The only thing is since its a private college the fee is bit on a higher side compared to other ABM colleges in India. But in placements and faculty its equally competitive. In fact students here get more exposure due to existence of multiple divisions.

All the faculty are well experienced with highest degree . They are friendly and approachable, available all the time. Every student here will get a faculty as a mentor who would be available anytime for the student. My favorite faculty would be Sushant malik sir, faculty of agriculture economics. I like the way sir teaches and uses different approaches to make us understand the concepts. Every semester has 2 internal evaluation and one external evaluation. The course curriculum is very relevant.

There will be an online GEPI before selection. Admission committee coordinate with the students and ensure smooth process. My ge topic was - should india continue to buy oil from russia? I prepared for ge by regularly staying updated with the latest news and trends. Read newspapers on regular basis.

The hostel campus is beautiful over here. You can hangout anywhere. There is a canteen, juice center, chat center, stationary everything inside the campus itself. Also gym, zumba, yoga, swimming pool are also provided for free. Students are allowed to enter inside till 11 pm and go out till 10pm everyday. The college is located in hinjewadi which is an IT hub. So all the facilities are nearby. There are big malls, cafes, restaurants at a short distance.
