- All the medical students must be compromised with the hostel facility provided in this college, as the hostel management doesn’t focus more on hygiene of the hostel corridors.
- A proper college campus boundary is required for proper checking of the people entering and leaving the campus.
- The library should be available 24/7. Presently the library closes at midnight 12:00pm
Course Curriculum Overview
The medical curriculum in this college is well structured and comprehensively designed. The NMC regulates the MBBS program which spans 5.5 years including 1 year of internship including pre-clinical, clinical and para-clinical subjects.
Internships Opportunities
The roles of all the medical internship students are same. They are required to complete a particular number of days in each and every medical departments. The duration of the internship is 1 year. The internship student will be paid 1,000 per day , which is approximately 28,000-31,000 , based on the number of days in that particular month.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Gadag Institute of Medical Science,Gadag has released the revised fee structure for the MBBS course for the academic year 20224-2025. The total fee for the first year amounts to 97,750 for all the categories including GM/OBC,SC/ST and AIQ students. The fee structure includes various components such as the university registration fee of 3,000, an admission fee of 500, and a sports fee of 500 for 4.5 years. Additionally students must pay 450 for the students welfare fund and 4500 for the helinet fee for the same duration. The tuition fee is 65,100 and library fee is 1,950. Other charges are 450 for the college sports fee and 550 for medical examination. A refundable caution deposit of 1,950 is also required to be paid. The alumina association fee is 800 for lifetime. IA fees are 350, association and magazines fees are 550 each. The Kannadiga Santa fee is 250. The Identity Card and apron fee is 700. The Research fee is 1,250 and digital library access fee is 1,950. Additionally the log book completion certificate costs 1,500. The skill lab fee is 4,000 and transportation fee is 4,500. The above mentioned fee is same for all students irrespective of categories. While speaking about Scholarships It can be concluded that the Karnataka state government gives 50,000 scholarships for all students whose parent's annual income is less than 10,00,000. The scholarship amount varies according to the categories.
Campus Life
The annual festivals are mentioned below Firstly freshers day will be conducted for the newly joined first year students. All the state festivals will be celebrated in the college. Monthly food fests will also be conducted.
Admission
Basically, In India medical colleges will be allotted to the medical or neet aspirants based on the scores they achieved in the medical entrance exam which is NEET. Medical college aspirants are required to apply for the counselling process which decides which college the student will be getting. So there's no option for the student to choose the college they are interested unless they have a very high score which is generally higher than the particular college cutoff.
Faculty
The faculty of all the departments are very friendly with the students. They explain the concepts very clearly by demonstrating virtually everything that needs to be taught.They are accessible anytime within the college hours which makes the students approach them anytime they want to. This college has the best faculty.
Night Life
The nightlife in this college is best as the college is surrounded with mountains and also the college gardens provide a best spot for the students to relax while studying . The college hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
