Course Curriculum Overview
Few courses are very much relevant to a BBA graduate like supply chain management, ERP, Human resources, Marketing , and accounting. The theory is more practical and the real-world application is less. I won't say the real-world applications are not taught, but they are not explained and discussed very often. We are always running around assignments and exams only to score good marks. As per my observation, we are not gaining the knowledge we require to compete in the corporate world. It would be better if the university launched more concepts that are related to the corporate world with more industrial visits. The exams are conducted with a gap of one month between each semin examination and they are moderate and not that difficult to clear.
Internships Opportunities
Every student has to do an internship during the summer break and we call it (SIP) Summer Internship Program. As I'm a degree student, I have to do 3 years of Internships, in my 1st,2nd, and 3rd years. In my first year, I have done my internship at Dynamic Informatics, which is a based company that provides technology to client companies. I have worked as a DIgital Marketing intern for 1 month. In my second year, I have done my internship at ICRISAT as a business plan designer and digital marketing intern, which enhanced my skills. These internships made me closer to the corporate world, which every student requires. The total experience was quite good.
Placement Experience
Our College provides 100% placements. From 4th Semester, we have received training in interview preparation and written test techniques. By 5th Semester, we became eligible for campus placements, attracting a range of companies, including Bank of America, Accenture, Intellipat, and State Street. No company has departed without making offers, and several students have successfully secured positions, at least one student is placed in each of the companies mentioned above. The highest package being 5LPA at State Street and an average package of 3LPA. Out of our batch ,196 members opted for placements, while 35 remained to be placed. I have been fortunate to secure a position at Accenture, along with 28 other peers and I plan to join the company upon graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am currently a final-year student at Koneru Lakshmaiah University, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Business Analytics. My experience at the university has been great, and I have no complaints to report. The fee structure for my program is 1,00,00/- per semester, however, due to a scholarship I get a concession of 20% and I am required to pay 80,000/- per semester. My batchmates and I pay different amounts based on our scholarship. For regular BBA graduates, the semester fee is 90,000/- and students can apply for a scholarship. Merit-based scholarships are awarded based on the student's intermediate examination scores, leading to varying amounts paid by my peers. To my knowledge, our department offers four types of scholarships: merit-based, need-based, category-based, and those for sports and athletes.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life has been enriching, characterized by active social engagement and robust club involvement. Annual fests, like Surabi and Expactica are conducted in March and April every year, foster community spirit and innovation. The university library boasts an extensive collection of books and journals, ensuring comprehensive resources for academic pursuits. Classrooms are equipped with modern technological provisions, like projector and a TV screen facilitating a conducive learning environment. A diverse array of sports and extracurricular activities, including inter-college competitions and art clubs, cater to varied students' interests. Student-run organizations and portals, which in our campus it is called the Student Activity Center(SAC), play a role in enhancing social interactions and creating a vibrant student community.
Admission
Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU) offers students the opportunity to select their desired stream after completing the BiPC curriculum, which influenced my decision to pursue my studies there. Although I initially applied to SRM university , I found that I was ineligible for BBA program due to my BiPC background. Additionally, KLU's fee structure is more favorable compared to that of SRM. Consequently, I did not submit applications elsewhere and opted for admission at KLU. The admission process was straightforward, I engaged with the HOD, who thoroughly explained the course details, while another faculty member provided guidance throughout the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty are friendly and every faculty has done their PHD. 20 plus faculty are available in our BBA department, and they are enough as the total number of students in every batch will be approximately 300 members. HOD of the department, Dr.Venkateswara Rao Podile is also a great professor, despite his busy schedule, he taught us macro-economics. Dr.Mohan Krishna Sir, he teaches R-programming and Python, he clarifies the doubts and allows us to think and analyze. The other faculty that I like is Dr.Narendra Ryali Sir, he came for one course ITBM, Sir made the concept interesting and exciting, and he is also in charge of placements, and he guides the students in the right way. There is no faculty that I dislike, they are all polite. For each semester we write 3 exams: Semin 1, Semin 2 and End Semester examination. The exams depend on how tough the exam paper is designed by the faculty. If a question is out of the syllabus, the exam will be a little tough to score marks. Overall, the exams will be conducted moderately and students who study will pass. Even if we fail in the exam, we can write betterment.
Night Life
The nightlife at the campus is amazing with street lights and radio. My favorite spot to hang out is Satish Canteen, it is right below my block, very convenient to go. We also have a gym on campus, there are separate ones for boys and girls. Girls who stay in the campus hostel cannot roam after 8:30, it's for their safety. The campus is huge to roam and hang out with friends, each block has its own specialty and separate canteen. The campus is a safe place to roam and there are security and discipline in charge, always roaming. The campus is surrounded by green and tall trees, it is a peaceful and quiet place to hang out, and there are many restaurants and a gym outside the campus too. Not only students, faculty can also live in campus in staff quarters. There are two boys and two girls hostels.
