Course Curriculum Overview

1

So the thing is I choose commerce because I didn't have sufficient money to pursue my education in the field of science otherwise I would have but thats my case, There are a lot of improvement needed in our curriculum as it lacks teacher and student interaction and they honestly don't know how to make the classes more interesting for the students to attend them regularly which leads to students bunk their college. The main problem is with our university ( UTKAL UNIVERSITY) It's so bad it does it's exam as it wishes not when it actually needs to be done.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees Annual fees ranges from 6000- 6500 which on an average calculated for 3 years gives 18000. Additional fees Exam registration fees ranges from 500-600 every semester While general category have to pay standard fees as mentioned candidates with sc/st categories get a deduction of upto 25% in every regarded fee structure . While there are no direct scholarships in the college itself ,students can get scholarships from government which can cover their financial needs for the college ranging from a financial help of 25% - 100%

Campus Life

4

While our infrastructure is very very poor our college campus might not be the worst the seniors present their makes it more enjoyable as they keep arranging different activities which keeps us engaged

Admission

I never wanted to come to this college it happened because during my 12th boards I had to work some place so our family financial needs could be completed and which eventually affected my studies and because my grades dropped I m in this college otherwise it's a big NO and not the mention the long lethargic process of admission where you have to run from one person to another person for your admission.

Faculty

1

The faculty to students ratio is very bad , the college administration in general is very bad it isn't capable of handling students affairs. The only faculty or I should say I liked is Pravat sir who is the nicest person you can ever meet and understand students problem as a father and while I don't hate someone in particular there are no one in our college who listens to us and as for exams while mid semester/internals are easy as they are prepared in our college so they do have some liberality towards us but the semester exams are sometimes difficult otherwise they are easy as well if a student has prepared well enough

Interview Experience

2

There were no group discussions or interview or written test as these colleges don't focus on study much rather they focus on earning money if I m being honest that is how it is and that is how it will be in the future as well

Night Life

1

Short and simple answer there is no night life in our college . There is no gym ,no cafeteria , a library which is there but doesn't matter , no hostel , no hangout places nothing and the location is not good as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
