Course Curriculum Overview
To choose BAMS was my decision considering its demand post covid and in abroad there is lot of demand While studying this course I realised that are many diseases which are not cured by allopathy but Ayurveda has the scope to heal that disease For improvement here is by bringing more awareness about ayurveda and need of good teaching faculties In our college we have 3 terms with each term having 3 periodicals with 1.5 month gap followed by a term end exam The difficulty level is maintained so as to prepare for university
Fees and Financial Aid
1year = 3 terms 1 term fees = 135500 1 year fees = 406500 Total 3 years Fees for books instruments uniform = 17000 University exam fees = 3000 Scholarships available but I am not eligible for it Scholarships included are Digital Gujarat and MYSY
Campus Life
Even though we really have a very small college campus but sometimes we do have functions in college Firstly we have Ganesh chaturthi celebration for 10 days with each day having aarti performed by each batch or faculty Then we have 1 day Navratri celebrations Then mostly in December or January we have Sports week where students of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy compete against each other Then also in January or February we have days celebration And every year have its convocation ceremony followed by a talk show with motivational speakers Many variety books are available in college library but it's number is less we need to wait too long for some books to read Each class has a projector in it And a social group called Arise Club is ram by students here
Hostel Facilities
Girls hostel room is of 5 sharing with following facilities Desk Study table Chair Bed Bedsheet and pillow Laundry (But not that good and twice a week) Food in the hostel is very bad and menu repeats every 15 days Registration is simple only need to show college fees deposit receipt and fees is 80000 per year
Admission
I chose B.G.Garaiya Ayurveda College because firstly it was one of the best ayurveda colleges in Rajkot under Gujarat Ayurved University Regarding the admission procedure I got seat in the Vacant quota because firstly I had decided to take an year drop but then decided to study BAMS Other colleges I applied were Murlidhar Ayurveda College Noble Ayurveda College Eva Ayurveda College VM Mehta Ayurvedic College But as mentioned earlier I found my college best among these Regarding these colleges I didn't get any rejection Admission procedure was simple few documents are required as follows 10+12 marksheet Neet marksheet Birth certificate proof Transfer Certificate Eligibility criteria was 12 pass with biology and Neet cutoff was around 450 during our time
Faculty
So basically in our curriculum in 1 year (18months) we have 3 term and after each term we have term end exams followed by practical and viva In each term(6months) we have 3 periodical exams After 3 term we have university exams To pass in university one should be regular in studies otherwise it is difficult to pass We have good faculty and each faculty has approx 10 students as their mentees who they give guidance But many of our good teachers are leaving the college Some faculties are not that good their style of teaching is very boring
Night Life
Regarding hangout spots there are very few as college is really far from city but there are few as follows Tea post Juice Junction Triveni Sangam at Tramba Garden Regarding gyms there are no gyms nearby Hostel in out timings for boys are Morning 7 to evening 7 Whereas for girls outing is allowed only on 2 nd Sunday of each month from 8am to 4pm In case of emergency one has toh take leave from college and then return by 7pm in evening
