Remarks
I didn't really apply to a lot of colleges, due to some family reasons I was not able to move out of Lucknow. The main reason why I chose Amity Lucknow was that in Lucknow, it was the best option based on the research I did. The admission process was pretty simple and direct, you should just go straight to the admission office. One must have atleast 60% in PCM in their 12th to be eligible for the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Mechanical Eng. because of my interest in ICE and they had some good and abundant subjects available on that. For improvements, I would suggest just to make the classes more lifelike, as in show more practical experiments rather than just theoretical ones. The exams used to take place after every 4.5-5 months.
Internships Opportunities
In my personal experience, there were no internship oppurtunities offered to us on campus. But the faculty members, helped us with their contacts. The major project I worked on was an 'Eye detection-awareness system' for the drivers.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are okay, since my placement drive started during the recession. Somewhere around 90 companies visited the campus. The highest package offered was 28lpa. The average package, based on my personal experience was around 4lpa. I would say more that 70% of the students received an offer. My plans after getting the degree was to get a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for every semester was INR1.28L, which turned out to be INR2.56L per year. The tuition fees was INR1.28L. The caution fee was INR14000/-, which was refunded after the completion of the course. The fees of my batchmates was the same as me. The scholarships were given on the basis of the JEE score or the score of the entrance exam. NOTE: The scholarship was removed if the students were not able to maintain a CGPA of 7.
Campus Life
The campus life was good along with the people and the infrastructure. The annual festival was named 'Amiphoria' which lasted for 3 days, and it used to take place in mid-Feb. The experience was really good. Almost all the books related to the course were easily available in the library. Every class had a projector. The student portal was named 'Amizone' and it worked fine most of the time.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was 1:4. Most of the faculty members were pretty approachable. I didn't really dislike anyone in particular, since they were all helpful when it came to doubts related to studies. There were a total of 8 exams, 1 per semester. The exams were tough, I would give 8/10 for the difficulty. In every semester, there were atleast 1 or 2 students who received a backlog.
Night Life
The library used to closed somewhere around 6:30 pm. The gym was not good, I won't suggest it to anyone. I did not opt for hostel so I don't know much about it. The best place to hangout was the ground and the WIFIzone.
