Likes

Environment is good , academically strict
Good infrastructure, skylab is there for students
Good library very spacious, stationary stores

Dislikes

Small campus and mostly non AC classrooms
Wifi connection is very poor in peak hours
Event organization can be improved a bit

Course Curriculum Overview

The lab practicals are good labs are well arranged and has all the required equipments. Lab is the best place in silicon university to gain actual knowledge the lab faculties are really co operative and helpful.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year for btech electronics and communication the fee is 210000 ( 2 semesters) Hostel fees are between 50,000-100000 Various clubs charge some amount while joining the club(100-200 for I card) For every category the fees is same .

Campus Life

There are various clubs like robotics club , creative club, entrepreneurship development cell, google development , IEEE , Switch club , and many more. There are 2 main events one is rhythmnova which is held during mid November or first week of December then is zygon which is done in Feb - march. The overall campus life is good.

Admission

I opted for this college as it was near my house so my travel expenses reduced and silicon university is semi government so there is a relaxation in fees . The academic environment is good here and the faculties are also well qualified

Faculty

Faculties are good and co operative There are 2 exams one is mid term before semester which is of 20 marks then comes the semester exam which is of 50 marks the question level is moderate. Marking is strict.

Night Life

There is a gym in the campus and there are different trainees for girls and boys. Hostel report timing is 7:00 pm in evening and late entry is allowed only in emergency cases . Students hangout in the skylab mostly.

Placement Experience:

placements are average...not feels like an iit but its ok ...this yaer percentage of placement was 90% and highest ctc was of 67.4 LPA with median of 12LPA and average of 17 LPA ...most of the placements for SDE roles. My plan is to finish my degree as soon as possible and get placed for a SDE role so that i can survive

Placement Experience:

The placement stats of IIT Bhubaneswar are quite good. For the 2025 placement season, the highest CTC was 67.6 LPA and the mean CTC was 14.5 LPA, with a total of 22 PPO offers. Approximately 90% students were placed this year. Major recruiters were Google, Oracle, Zomato, Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA and Meesho. This year, there were 5 international offers (4 from Accenture Japan and 1 core offer from Niterra Japan).

A balanced blend of learning,growth, and memories

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly comprhensive covering core subjects in the first two years and advanced electives like AI,cloud and Data analytics later, which influenced my decision to join. It balances theory with labs and projects,preparing students for real-world applications and higher studies. Exams are held twice a semester plus finals with moderate difficulty. Improvement is needed in making some courses ore practical and updating a few outdated topics.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

Placement Experience:

So the students become eligible for placemant usually from the 7th semester of the Btech which is from the 4th year and the internship opportunities are available from the 3rd year onwards that is from 5th and 6th semester. So in year 2024-25 the number of companies that visited The campus is around 330 And the total job offers offered is about 1200. So the highest package in the EC branch is about 1.2 crore per annum and the average package for the EC branch is around 13 to 14 lakhs. And the Profile of jobs are core electronics, VLSI and semiconductor roles ,system and embedded developments, software engineering, IT services, consulting and analytics. The percentage of student which are getting placed are in the range of 90 to 99% for ECE branch. The top recruiters are Apple Google, Microsoft, Amazon, wipro, Deloitte, Tata,Vedanta etc. After completing my degree in ECE from NIT Rourkela my plan is to join the core technology sector as a VLSI and semiconductor engineer in a reputed multinational Companies, leveraging the strong foundation and industrial exposure gained during my studies in case I do not secure a campus placement I aim to pursue the off campus opportunities in electronics, IT or analytics sectors. Alternatively I am open to perceive higher studies in MBA to specialize in the management sector.

NOT AN IDEAL COLLEGE BUT DEFINITELY DESCENT

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is descent. Some of the student opt for higher studies. Almost 80% get placed with good packages.some goes for gate exam. I also know a senior who have gate AIR of 42. I am planning for gate along with my degree.companies like Hpcl , cpcl, exon mobil usually come here for recruiting.

Remarks:

College is surrounded by beautiful nature. 7-8 km from college is Hirakud Dam which is the longest Earthen dam in Asia. The Place Burla which college is located is away from traffic and city chaos and is very peaceful place to roam around for getting peace of mind.

A good university with a good environment. Healthy atmosphere.

Remarks:

KIIT University is a heaven on earth for students. I would suggest. Please do apply for this university if you are interested and you won't regret. The only bad part, it's a private University. And people don't realize it's worth saying it's not a government University so they won't be able to provide jobs. It's a myth. Infrastructure and exposure wise this university is the best.

Entrance Preview:

JEE mains and my score was 145. My percentile was 95 in boards. I chose this college partly because my brother has passed out from same college n partly because it has a good reputation in case of campus placements. Nearly every student is placed from campus only.
