Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is very relavent in terms of the real life applications but some subjects such as ECE is kind oof outdated, which is explainable due to the fact that the faculty is using an old textbook. The curriculum is useful while pursuing real life applications. The exams are kind of difficult because they are immediately after the lab practicals which is kind of difficult to manage, otherwise everything is pretty easy,

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships in VITAP are for 2nd and 3rd year students. From what we have heard internship also requires an interview which uses our STS and English course skills which we are taught in our 1st and 2nd semester..

Placement Experience

4

Placements of the college are good enough, the average package is 5LPA and the highest package last year recorded was 25LPA. Companies visited are Accenture, TCS, Microsoft, Amazon. Students who are getting placements are about 40-50% (those who maintain likely 8.5 and above CGPA).My plans are to pursue higher studies after my degree..

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees i am paying yearly is 3 Lakh 50 thousand inr. (this is only tution fees). This fee is inclusive of lab fees, admission fees. Management quota fees is about 6-7 LPA (only academic fees, hostel fees is paid separately)...

Campus Life

4

The annual technical fest VTAP is scheduled to be conducted in SEPTEMBER. The annual fest VTOPIA in which a celebrity or an artist is invited to perform for a nominal fees is to be conducted in MARCH (tentative). The library is really well maintained, the wifi connection in library is really fast which allows us to study really well. Student run clubs are really well maintained which allow any student to join in their intrest. The clubs conduct their own events as per the convienence of their students or the ones who run those clubs...

Hostel Facilities

5

The facilities provided in the room are a bed, a cupboard, a table, table lamp, chair etc. Every floor has 1-3 water coolers and 4 common washrooms. The washrooms are really clean are washed daily and neatly maintaned. The mess timings are BREAKFAST- 0730 - 9000 LUNCH - 1230 - 2000 SNACKS - 1730- 1830 DINNER - 1930 - 2100 The food quality is good compared to many rented PGs

Admission

I applied for VIT vellore and got admission into Mechanical Engineering, I also got into Amrita School of Engineering Coimbatore into mechanical engineering but i chose vit ap over them because of the choice branch. I was rejected from IIIT-Hyd because i couldnt make it to the cutoff by .05% it was very disappointing. Exams accepted for my course are VITEEE, JEE mains/advanced, also 12th class board exams. Entrance experience was overall good,

Faculty

3

Nearly all faculty members are Post Graduates with doctorates, very seldom we see faculty with just PG. I really like the English faculties as they are really approachable and friendly, then again nearly all faculty are approachable it just depends on the way we approach them. Sometimes some faculty are very short tempered, then again those faculties are also rare. There are 2 mid terms between every semester exams, only math exam is a bit difficult rest all we can manage very easily.

Night Life

4

My favorite hang out spots include MAGGIE hotspot, or food street, Night life in vit ap is really fun as we students get to hang out in whole campus except the academic buildings. They are shut off as soon as the clock hits 7 30 pm. Hostel timings are as we must be in hostels before 9 pm and the attendance is at about 9 30 pm. Yes the locality is safe to roam around at night as there are security guards posted 24/7

Other Applied Colleges

Our college principal suggested us to join in job and if possible parallel nature to do masters, of course it might possible for me, Somehow without getting into recruited in campus placements went to Hyderabad for to join in IT Sector. Since, we are the first most batch to our college may be with that reason for mine not to get to active in to get more number of placement companies.
