Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum provides a solid foundation in core subjects in first year and progresses to specialized subjects in later years. The inclusion of projects and internships prepares students for real-world applications. Opportunities for hands-on learning through mini-projects and internships. Transition towards interactive teaching methods like flipped classrooms to engage students better. Exams focus on theory and practical. The exams can be challenging and while pass rates generally good.

Internships Opportunities

4

During 7th semester companies visit our college, the ones who got placed will be getting an offer for internships in the same company and there are also other institutes and companies who offer internships with/without stipend.

Placement Experience

4

Students typically become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. Some well-known companies that visit for placements include TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro and Accenture. The number of offers differ from year to year , arounfd 70% students receive offers. Highest package offered is around 12-15lpa and average is around 3-5lpa depending on company and role. Around 60-70% of students get placed through campus recruitment. My plans are either to pursur a masters's degree pr to join a tech company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee I paid was 75,000. In case of the payment seats depending on the category, the fee varies from 1,00,000-1,20,000 for different branches. Caution fees are around 5,000-10,000 ( Refundable at end of the course) The registarion or admission fees are 5,000-10000 which has to be paid one-time during the process. Other fees like labs, library charges are of around 2,000-10000. Fee for different categories: General - 75000 or any scholarship from government(Fee Reimbursement) Payment seats - 1,00,000 to 1,20,000 Scholarships - The college provides "Merit-Based Scholarships", "Government Scholarships", Fee Reimbursement for SC/ST/OBC Students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is vibrant, with numerous clubs and social groups that promote student engagement. There are different clubs like - Technical clubs like Coders Club, IEEE GPREC, CIE Cultural Club - Bhuvanvijayam Women cell - which promotes development and other import aspects of women by conducting different events. TEDxGPREC - From 2023 our college has got license for orgainzing tedx event in our college. We also have fests and events for festivals and other special days throughtout the year. The library is well-equipped with large collection of books, journals and e-resources which are easily accessible to all students. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, audio-visual aids and computers and Wi-Fi across campus. There are sports facilities for indoor and outdoor games. Students from our college participate in state-level and national-level competitions.

Admission

I chose GPREC over other options due to its strong reputation in engineering education, industry connections, and practical exposure through internships and projects. Our college offers good infrastructure, labs and campus amenities compared to others. I have got selected for other colleges likes MRIT, CMR and other but could not join as it was non-local for me. Eligibility for B.Tech , candidates must have completed 10+2 with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects. The main exam is APCET. The cut-off vary by branch. The admission process was smooth, involving counseling session, document verification and fee payment. There were no major hurdles.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio falls within the range of 1:15 to 1:20, which is generally considered healthy. THis ensures students have a reasonable amount of personal attention from faculty, which is crucial in academic growth. I'm from EEE department, all my faculty are excellent at teaching and they are very supportive to our ideas and help us at anytime . At GPREC, the course is designed to ensure students receive a strong foundation in core subjects along with exposure to advanced topics . Year 1- Focus mainly on funddamentals of Maths,Physics,Chemistry, Engineering mechanics. Year 2&3 - Core technical subjects in your specific engineering branch. FInal year- Specialized electives, Projects and preparation for placements. The exam system usually have two main examinations per semester: 1. Two Mid exams / Internals usually held after 6-10 weeks of the semester. 2. End exam at end of the semester. Difficulty level increases with each year and it depends from courses choosen. Failure rate can vary from subject and batch. However, college maintains good reasonable pass percentage. Endsemester exams carry 60% and mids 40%. Grading system is based on CGPA.

Night Life

4

The campus tends to be quiet after 7:00pm as most academic buildings and library closes by 5pm. However, students often gather in the hostels or common areas. The gym and cafeteria are available till around 6:30PM . My favorite hangout spots are Amphitheatre, Cafeteria and ground.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best and for some it could be worst part also , it doesn't matter whether you're a mechanical engineering student or EEE or CSE you should have to learn every single programming language from C to python including DSA and cloud computing which will help you to switch your career easily if you want. but however at the same time the mechanical students feel stressed alot. because they have to study their own field subjects which are not easy at the same time they have to clear the programming languages which are completely different from mechanical subjects

Placement Experience:

If I talk about my branch, as per my knowledge from 6th semester onwards the students can sit in the placement run. The college offers placement training with individual of expertise from that respective subject. Many top companies visit the campus to list out, AWS, INFOSYS, JMAN, TCS, IBM are some if them. More than 50 lakhs package is secured. The average lies around 4 to 5 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch and for some branches it's 100%, the average package for them would be 3 lakhs per annum, and the highest goes around 12 lakhs per annum. Students can apply off campus if they didn't get placed.
