SCET insideOUT

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed and they implement it too with sincerity. But there is catch this sincerity continues only till the 2nd sem from 3rd sem they'll give you options to choose your subjects and despite of majority people selecting a subject, they'll only teach you the subject for which they have faculties. But this a common practice and most of the colleges do this to save cost and at the same time show you that they think about your choice.

The college placement cell is good, it's just that you have to put some efforts to get yourself placed. Speaking about the companies, the placement cell is well reputed and you get to appear before a hell lot of companies. Getting a job or internship is not as difficult and not easy, it's just that you have to be sharp enough and put a little extra effort to get selected. The placement starts from the first day of the 3rd sem and the companies will continue to recruit you till the year end. Some of the companies continue to recruit even after the final exams but it's better if you secure your job as soon as possible.

The total fees for the whole course would be around 2 -2.5 lakhs without any concessions or scholarships. The full break down is as follows: 1st Sem: 57250 2nd Sem: 47250 3rd Sem: 50250 4th Sem: 47250 This includes all types of fees(joining, new admission, course, tution, library,etc). After the course completion a small amount taken by the institution in the name of deposit money will be returned to you.

The college has a Fest named Kshitij and all the departments organize their events under this banner. As I was from Mumbai, the fest that happens in SCET is nothing in front of the Fest that happens in Mumbai. The vibe is not that someone wants. But comparing it to the local level or surat level you can get an Little above average experience. There are many clubs for the nerds as well as for the sports enthusiasts and not to forget the club for the people who love politics(I would prefer not to say the name????). Yaa it's an Little above average college. infrastructure of the college is good. They have done 2 grounds, 2 gardens, 2 major canteens, and some more things.

I was new in the town and when I asked to my relatives(who already lived here) they told me that SCET is an good option. The admission is not too complex if you belong to this state. I was from Mumbai so I had to face some complications but with some good grades and luck I got admission here. But it was not as easy at it looks, I had to got some recommendations from previous college and after some regular visits I got the admission

The college faculty is okayish not too good not too bad. But frankly speaking in every college you'll get to hear the same thing. Some of the faculties are extremely helpful they'll always support you to push your limits and help in whatever way they can. While some are like do your job and go. But like I said it's same in every college. Talking about exams they are quite a strick ones. There are 2 exams in each semester. 1 midterms(practical and theory) 1 Final(practical and theory). The midterm counts for 25 marks in both practical and theory. The Finals are for 60 marks both practical and theory.

Hangout places in surat are rare, most of them are just the 'Overhyped CAFEs'. And if you want to look cool in front of them you would be going to cafe and click a shit of photos and post it. Night life is not as such. Positive side is that you have a lot of eating options as the college is located in Athwa gate, you'll always get some or the other thing to eat.
