Sharad Pawar College of Agriculture Review

College is not very good , but it is Top Ranked Private College in Konkan ! Academically it needs to improve very much ! The faculty staffs needs to be more experienced ! Good college if you are a sportsperson & also if you have interest in other cultural activities :-)

The Curriculum includes subjects like AGRONOMY , HORTICULTURE ,PLANT BREEDING , ANIMAL HUSBANDRY , PATHOLOGY , EXTENSION EDUCATION , PATHOLOGY , ENTOMOLOGY , ENGINEERING , MICROBIOLOGY , BIO TECHNOLOGY !

Yes my college does provide Interships in the final year IV ! They include production of milk products like Paneer, Lassi,Chaas,IceCream,sweets,etc ! They is also a big poultry of the college where chicken rearing is done along with egg & meat production !

There are no fixed placements provided by the college but after completing Bsc Agri one can apply for Banking exams like IBPS and Agriculture MPSC ,posts like Agricilture Field Officer , Extension Officer & also start business of Fertilizers & Manures for farming!

All the events related to Agriculture are been well celebrated like World Agriculture Day, World Food Day ,World Environment Day, etc ! Cultural events like Annual Gathering & Shivaji Mahraj Jayanti are celebrated at a grand well !

The fee structure is not very feasible and also too expensive ! There is separate admission before each semester ! Each semester has a fees of approx 45-50k including all the academics , library fees, gymkhana fees , maintainance,etc

The Scholarships and Freeships are providee for the Socially Backward & Economically Backward category students ! For SC,ST,NT,etc Scholarships are provided wihich include the exemption of the Tuition fee which is around 50k per year !

Our college is among the top ranked colleges when it comes to sports in the whole University ! Sports like BasketBall, Badminton, TableTennis, Kho Kho, Kabbadi,Chess,Carrom ,etc ! Also when it comes to cultural competitions like Singing,Dancing,Skits, Quiz,Monoacting etc our college is highly reputed!

The hostel infrastructure for boys is poor & unhygienic ! Literally 4-5 boys are been placed in one small room ! No hygiene & maintainance of the hostel rooms & washrooms ! The food provide in the mess is even more bad & of poor quality ! Yearly fees for hostel is 10 k & for mess is 8k ! Comparatively the hostel & mess for girls is better & hygienic

The Alumni of my college consists of few successful Farmers,Social workers , Extension Officers, IBPS Officers , Sportsperson and also few who cracked MPSC exams ! The Seniors are very helpful & respectful at the same time. There is no conduct of Ragging & related stuffs in college premises or in the hostels of the juniors !

There are total 8 semesters in all the 4 years of degree ! Each semister consits of 20-25 credits, where 1 subject is min 2/3 credits ! All subjects have theory & practical for equal marks for eg. Subject having 1+1 credit will have theory 50marks + practical 50marks & likewise !

During my time, there was Online Admission Process , students who gave HSC & had agricultural field of their own can apply online for the course ! Later 3/4 Merit Lists were announced and students got admission according to the their merit rank in the list ! After the merit list there was a special round called as Spot Round where the students who didnt get a college in the merit list can go at the college and get an offline admission only if he has the highest percent closer to their cutoff!

The faculty are Msc completed students, who are doing their PhD preparation! They lack experience of teaching and thats why dont know how to teach the students properly ! Most of the faculty are very poor in English, some cannot even speak properly in English so i becomes very difficult for the students to understand the concepts !
