Course Curriculum Overview

5

I woult rate is 9 out of 10 for my course in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose B.Sc Agriculture because it had many opportunities one of the reasons the cirriculum influenced me to choose this course was that it offered not only government job but we can also make our own living by farming and planting different kinds of fruits veggies. The cirriculum prepares how to tackle the different prospects of farming. They could improve in providing more practicals and more physical not just the mental in classroom. The timing of exams was May to June in summer and November to December in winter. The exam was not all that difficult as almost all gets through.

Internships Opportunities

5

The company o got offer was Agriclub. In agriclub the project was to improve plants survivability in harsh environment and also breed different plants and to make pesticides or fertilizers. During the internship i received 25-30 thousand per month and i did this internship for 14 months.

Placement Experience

4

The placements was good because once every year the companies come and look for students . The students become eligible for campus placements once they are in 4th semester. Companies like Vishal mart, indiamart, tata, infosys etc.The average package of small companies were around 150000 and bigger companies were 250000 yearly. The percentage of students getting placement was 40% My plan is to compete for government jobs

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for ST/SC is Rs.25000 per semester registration fee is rs 200 and rs 2000 for exam fees.Admission fee is rs 20000. Lad fees are included in the admission itself. However for General they pay more fees than St and Sc. Some of my batchmates who are from ST/SC background pays teh same amount of fees but for General they pay around Rs.30000 per semester. I am getting State government scholarship every year.

Campus Life

5

The annual festival was Rajni celebrated every year in the month of October. There are lots of book available in library not only the topicc related booke but also outside booke novels, history books and poetry. The extracurricular activities was only sports week where we divided into different grroups and competed.

Admission

I applied in 2 colleges,in Chandigarh University and the one i studied. I did get the confirmed admission from CU but the fee structure was more there it was less in Aryans degree college so thats why i chose this college . I didnt not get rejection from other college. The fee structure was out of my reach. The aadmission procees is quite simple They give you the form to fill up and pay the fee. Eligibility for ST/SC is 55% in class 12. There were no entrance exam. The overall admission was good because they explained the benefits of applying.

Faculty

4

The relationship between faculty to student is very good some faculty were hard to approach but some are very approachable and they help the students a lot in the areas they are lacking. The teaching faculty were the best. They help the students and help them understand better. The fee management facult were the worst. They dont care about the student as long as they get money. There are 2 exams in a semester i.e 4 exams in a year. The difficulty rate is 7 out if 10 almost all get through the exam.

Night Life

5

There was no gym in our campus but we liked to hang out in cafeterias and college canteen. Hostel timing morning wakeup timing 6 am breakfast at 7 lunch at 8:30 and then college starts at 9:30. Hostel gate closes at 8 pm and campus closes at 6 pm. One of the places where me and my friends hang out most was the tree line in our campus as it is cool. In chandigarh most locality is safe because all the people are friendly

Placement Experience:

From last year students are eligible for placement drives. Accenture, tata consulting and codeyoung recently visited. The highest package as of now is ctc 7.5lpa. For placements priority is given to the engineering students. Comparatively we science students get less chances of getting placed.
