Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Choudwar College has been serving the nation for many years by giving the best education to the students who become the base of the nation in the future. The course I did was a general BA course in history and the course curriculum of the college is provided and guided by the Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar, the total duration of the course is 3 years.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the placement, point of view the college is very weak in this area as the college has a placement cell that organizes placement or campus drive but placement are very less. But a student who have good academics, they will surely get the job or placement.

College Events

3

The college organized events from time to time. College students participate in the NSS activities organized at the university level as well as at the college level. Seminars and competitions on personality development, communication skills, etc. Different sports competitions like cricket, football competitions and debate competitions are organized.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Talking about the scholarship, I will say that college doesn't provide any scholarship of its own but yes, students can avail the scholarships by the scholarship schemes run by the government.

Campus Life

3.5

The college is well infrastructured and well equipped with all the necessary facilities. College is located in Choudwar which has a mythological and historical background and has a very special place in people's hearts. River Birupa and river Mahanadi flow down to its south, and the National High ways 54 and 5 is very close to the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college is not that big and there are very few corporate connections too. The seniors are good and very helpful although we have never met face to face but we are connected through social media.

Admission

I studied BA in history from this college and the admission is purely based on the merit list and the merit marks are calculated on the basis of the higher secondary examination score. If a candidate has a certificate of NCC or NSS volunteer then he/she will be given direct admission to the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took psychology in my graduation to learn and understand human nature and it's interpretation in various aspects of life. It's great subject with great exposure to medical as well as teaching field. This University is taking things too casually so that needs to improve. They do not provide any placement or much internship in our course so they must work on that

Admission:

BJB Autonomous college is the premier college of Odisha! Moreover, it's a government college, so it's obvious that there's huge competition among students to get admission into this college! Students get admitted here on the basis of merit list.So only the best of the best study there. So, I also wanted to get admitted there. The admission process is quite simple. You have to fill up the form and and then wait for the first selection list wherein which students are qualified to take admission. Then there's a second selection list too wherein the remaining seats are filled up by those students whose names feature in that list.Luckily, I made it to the first selection list with ease so there was no problem or waiting game. Then, there's spot admission process too wherein the seats are filled up on the spot.Like, if someone has done admission but decides not to join and wants to leave, or if students whose name was featured on the selection lists but didn't turn up for admission. So those seats are filled up in this process. On the admission day, a group of teachers will be present in an auditorium wherein they'll call the name of students alphabetically and then you have to submit the necessary documents which will be verified by them. After it's done, you'll have to go to the cash counter which is present in the administrative block.Submit the fees, get the receipt and you're all done.I was pursuing bachelor of arts in economics honours.I didn't have any knowledge how arts was like, to be honest! So before taking admission, I had a few friends who were studying at BJB.So I asked them like, what's the best subject I can opt for? So they said you can take economics or english.Because those are the royal subjects in arts. And since I had studied economics in class 10th, I thought this course would be the same. But, it turned out to be totally different thing! I just scratched my head like why on earth did I choose this subject as my honours? But then, I adapted well and studied accordingly and got okayish grades, if not good, at the end of my final year.Economics is an interesting subject if you develop a liking for it which I did eventually and somewhat succeeded in it.I chose to go for graduation because I never wanted to do engineering.I don't know why, but I never liked that stream.
