- It is a friendly environment and the teaching and non-teaching staff are helpful. The number of girls enrolling for the course is increasing over the years. While i was studying, the ratio was almost 1:1
- The overall college atmosphere is safe and secure. Ragging does not happen and peers too are decent in behaviour.
- The location of the college allows for exploring the city along with the regular academic stuff.
Dislikes
- The college needs to work on incorporating advanced technology in the teaching learning process. On-site exposure needs to be provided to ensure quality education.
- The submissions become too demanding and mental health is seldom ignored.
- The campus needs to have a better planning. Too many departments in the same building and campus make it chaotic.
Course Curriculum Overview
The real life challenges provided through the course help in maintaining interest through the course. The curriculum partially prepares you for the outside world. The concepts and ethics of the profession are taught well while the professional exploration remains to the student. The faculty can include advanced technology as an important part of the teaching learning process to make the process interesting. Timely reviews for the assignments will help in improving the quality of submissions. The overall curriculum can be shifted towards a practical method and allowing interaction with the industry experts. On-site exposure will enhance the learning process. The exams are of two categories- written exam and viva voce. The viva can be difficult depending on the external examiner and the work produced by the student. The written exam is easier - based on theory learning through the course. If the understanding of the concepts is clear, the written exams are easy.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cource fee for open category is Rs. 144744, annual. The free remains same for all five years of the course duration. If someone decides to opt out of the course before the completion of the 5 year duration, he/she has to pay the fees for the remaining years as well. This is because the seat goes waste due to mid-course dropout.
Campus Life
The college encourages extracurricular activities. NASA, a student association at the national level hosts various competitions and conventions throughout the year. The college actively participates in the competitions. The college has its own cultural committee which organises various events on special occasions in the college. The college has its own annual magazine which is curated entirely by the students.
Admission
Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Architecture is the second architecture college in Pune. Over the years, the college has strived hard to maintain its quality of education. Abhinav is the first college and also the first one as per ranking. It has high cutoffs. Hence, Marathwada Mitra was the obvious choice. The admission happens through the central admission process. An entrance exam conducted by the state government is a mandatory requirement for the course. The CAP rounds further allow for selection of college and the colleges are alloted as per merit.
Faculty
Every subject has 2 faculties per division for a class strength of 40. Design studios have 4 faculties per class. The current strength of the college allows for 2 divisions and the theory lectures are conducted together for both the divisions. The faculty is cooperative but again depends on your impression on them. Biases in the markings on favouritism is not a common practice. There are 2 exams- in sem and end sem. The in sem is conducted at the college level while the end sem is conducted by the university. There is a possibility of failure in the end sem exam. Though there is an option of rechecking. If no, the student has to reappear for the exam in the next semester.
Night Life
The location of the college allows for a thriving nightlife. The neighborhoods in the precincts host a variety of cafes, restaurants and cultural clubs. It is a promising neighborhood for hanging out with friends.
