Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum which is taught to us under the affiliation of RTU Kota is a major drawback. It is almost two decades old and follows old traditional concept which are of no use in CSE related branches like - mechanics and civil engineering. Although it is interesting to know basics of other branches but one year gets wasted due to these stuff. There has to be some improvement and they should align themselves and the syllabus with the modern curriculum which has all the new elements required in today's time especially Artificial intelligence and machine learning. Also the teaching methodology should be improved and they should focus more on projector based classes rathen than blackboard classes to understand practically.Apart from these, JECRC conducts two internal exams called "mid-terms" after 4 weeks in each semester and the frequency is two times per semester with 1 month gap and has moderate difficult. The paper pattern is typically predictable due to our good teachers who tells us every corner to solve a question so we don't face any problem in the examination. After these mid-terms, the Semester exams is conducted by RTU Kota and that also has moderate difficulty. Any student who know basics concepts can easily clear the exams without a back.

Internships Opportunities

4

Before the placements like in our 2nd and 3rd year we are told to do internships through companies coming to college or off-campus of minimum 3 months for better placement package. The companies which come for placements also come for internships with average stipend of 15000 rupees and maximum stipend upto 1 lakh and least stipend offered is around 5000 rupees for low end roles. Although most students apply through off campus opportunities for more stipend.

Placement Experience

4

In 2023-24, the placements were phenomenal as the highest package has reached 33 LPA from Amazon and some other product based recruiters also gave 20-25LPA in-campus. The average package of the CSE branch stood at 6.5 LPA while the overall branches stood at 5 LPA. Some of the known recruiters who came for the campus drive are - Capgemini, Accenture, TCS, Adani, Flipkart, L&T, Bajaj, Service-now, etc. The total number of companies visied our college were 165+ and they made almost 1050+ offers. The most recruited profiles were - Software engineer and Product Manager.Apart from this the students are given assistance through CRT or campus recruitment training a program run by JECRC Foundation placement cell 3-4 month before placements season, which provide students assistance on HR interviews, GD rounds, coding competitions and many more. Although I am in first year but listening from seniors, Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre has one of the best placements in Rajasthan.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being in first year (2024) of JECRC, the yearly fees is 96000 rupees which is increasing every year with 5% rate. Along with that at the time of admission students are required to pay one time fees of 7000 rupees which is refundable after completion of BTech. There are no other charges after these two fees all are included in those only. Coming to the scholarship part , it is only given on the basis of JEE MAINS percentile or REAP counselling rank and the seat is known as " tution fees waiver seat " or TFWS . Through TFWS quota students are required to pay only 5000 rupees tution fees per year along with one time charges and 5% of total intake seats are reserved for this category. Also, no fee scholarship is given on the basis of category like - OBC,SC,ST etc. But college also provide assistance in getting financial help from various private and government schemes for education in the 2nd year of BTech and many students get benefited from those schemes.

Campus Life

3

The campus is 8 acres and located in Sitapur locality which is a fine area. The classrooms are both school type and college type. But when it comes to auditorium, library, seminal halls and club rooms they have a solid infrastructure. Again coming to a downside of college is that it does not have sports facilities and medical room, there is only basketball and football ground. The bus facilities are provided for less than 40km radius to Jaipur students only with Rs. 32000 yearly fees. There is a newly opened café NBC in the c-block.Coming to the overall campus life, I would say it average as we in college don't only want studies only but also extracurricular which are average in Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre. The crowd of campus is good and most students are from urban cities while some come from small towns. In Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre, there are several clubs for coding, photography, PR and media, dance, singing and meditation. In these Marvel Cart (coding club) and Avyaan (singing club) gather most attention among the students. College organises an annual event Renisance in the month of march for 3 days along with several festive Events like - Navratri event called "Navrang" and a "Halloween" event in November. There are two exceptional clubs in our college who have won national medals in IITs and NITs, they are Moonriders (robotics club) and Face & Footlights (drama club). Finally, taking a final call on JECRC Foundation, I would say it a placement driven college giving a few extracurricular opportunities. Although, you will not get bored in the college.

Admission

Currently pursuing my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, I got this through REAP 2024 counseling with a percentile of 93.The overall experience of admission was smooth. Also the total seat in the CSE branch is 420 and the overall intake is 1280. One can get in this college through direct admission on 15% seats which fills out in April. Apart from core branches they have introduced two new branches CSAI AND AIML due to the increasing demand of artificial intelligence and machine learning. As my percentile was low and AIR slightly above 1 lakh so I was unable to get any government colleges with good branch so that is why I decided for admission in JECRC FOUNDATION. I also applied for various other colleges like - LPU Jalandhar, VIT Vellore, Delhi-NCR colleges but the fact I didn't take admission there was placement to fees ratio and extreme intake of students. The 2024 cutoff through jee mains of all branches of JECRC are (in percentile):- CSE>88, CSAI>82, AIML>78,IT>75,ECE>70 and other branches fill below 70.

Faculty

4

The faculties for first year are mostly good some can be average. All of them hold M.Tech and Ph.D degrees in their respective specialisation. Almost 95% faculties are from private universities and some hold their degree from NITs and IITs. Mode of teaching is blackboards and ppt slides both along with practical labs which are excellent. As this year the intake has increased from 1000 to 1280 the ratio of teacher to student has decreased, on 60 students there is a teacher and in labs on 30 students there are 2 teachers. Although the teaching style is old but the knowledge they deliver along with practical examples makes the faculties of JECRC Foundation one of the best in Jaipur. Apart from faculties , the exams conducted are moderate to pass and two mid-terms are conducted in every semester for regular checking on students and internal marks of 30 are given on that basis. Majorly all students clear their semester easily but 6-7% students gets a back due to their lack of attendence or discipline. The course curriculum taught to us is average and not parallel to today's requirement, it is 20 years old syllabus which lacks subjects like coding and designing in the first year.

Night Life

2

The night life is pretty bad or average to be fair. The College is very strict about the night life due to being located slightly outside the city. There are almost 30+ guards to secure the campus in night at various locations. All the public gathering areas like - cafeterias, library, gym are operational till 10pm at most. Also the hostel of boys and girls both closes after 9/10 pm depending upon the season and the college gates closes after 9pm for hostelites and 4pm for daily comers. There is not much to hang out in night inside the college but outside within 5km radius we get enjoy with friends in clubs and restaurants which are affordable. The locality is not much safe for night out but in day we can easily walkaround without any unsafe feeling.

Other Applied Colleges

Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I didn't choose LPU Jalandhar due to financial unaffordablility.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are average but improving. Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. A few companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture (off-campus support), Capgemini, and some local Jaipur-based IT firms visit the campus. Most offers are for software trainee, support, testing, or analyst roles. The average package is around 3–4 LPA, while the highest package goes up to 8–10 LPA (mostly off-campus or through exceptional performance). Around 60–70% students get placed through campus or combined on/off-campus efforts.
