Likes
- In our college, I liked that there are dedicated departments for every department. This is why, Only the first year students have to sit together even if they are from any department. After 1st year, everybody will go to their dedicated department.
- I liked the campus very much. There are peoples that will interact with you. The surroundings are friendly.
Dislikes
- Environment outside college is rural area. No connectivity from urban areas at evening or night time.
- The food on which hostel students are dependent is not upto the mark. You will need a change in taste sooner or later.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the year 2014 & 2015, there was a huge scope for people in Computer Science Engineering. There were unlimted number of possibilities for a B.tech graduate at that time. This is why, I chose B.tech Computer Science course. The curriculum will help you to deal with the exams. If you are giving graduate level exams, you will be well guided for it by the faculty. There are no smart classes or good practicals examiner which we call lab technicians which causes everyone a havoc in the labs area. The midterms are the first monthly based exams that you'll need to give in order to pass your academics. After that, Practicals and then written exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first payment is 30,050 in the name of GEC, Jhalawar for admission and semester fees. After that, every semester fees will be 30,050. It includes the refundable deposit of 7500 which can be transferred to your bank account once you finish your college. If you are from SC/ST or you come in any other management quota, you can apply for Scholarship accordingly. Also, there are centres in college are who will help you with the process to apply for scholarship. Every course have the same fees because it's a fixed amount for all B.E/B.Tech courses.
Campus Life
Stepping onto campus felt like entering a whole new world of opportunities to meet people from all walks of life. I found myself surrounded by vibrant conversations, shared experiences, and a supportive community. Whether it was hanging out with friends after class or attending campus events, there was always something to do and people to connect with. The friendships I’ve formed here have truly become a cornerstone of my journey. Joining clubs was one of the best decisions I made. It gave me a sense of belonging and allowed me to dive into activities that align with my passions. From participating in dance groups to exploring adventure clubs, I discovered new skills and grew more confident in my abilities. Taking on leadership roles in some clubs helped me develop my organizational and interpersonal skills while making a meaningful impact on campus culture. The campus itself is a haven for productivity and recreation. Modern classrooms and well-stocked libraries made studying both efficient and enjoyable. Recreational facilities like the gym and open green spaces became my go-to places to unwind after a long day. The Wi-Fi connectivity and tech-friendly study areas also made academic life much smoother.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is nice. There is a lot of space in the rooms. There will be table and chair provided in each room. also, one big almirah is given to every student individually. Meal quality in hostel is satisfactory. You cannot eat this type of food on a regular basis if you don't like rahasthani cuisine. Lot's of spices. You will love it in starting but after some time, you get bored. Registeration for Hostel is done at the time of admission only. If you are not from Rajasthan, I will suggest you to stay in hostel only so that you get to know the area and learn about your college easily. If you still would like to opt for a rented room outside college area, you can rent a room in Jhalrapatan or Jhalawar cuty area. Also, you'll have to pay high money on transport if you don't follow the daily schedule according to auto union.
Admission
I applied to various colleges in the year 2014 and also appeared for the JEE-Mains examintion for IIT's and NIIT's. I was unable to crack the paper so only got few options for college, which is why, I chose to complete a certification in C and C++ programming language. In 2015, I gave my JEE Mains exam again and also filled forms for REAP 2015. This time, I cleared my JEE Mains Exam and also got a rank of 1129 in overall Rajasthan. This is how I joined GEC, Jhalawar affiliated to RTU, Kota. All national engineering exams are considerable*
