Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum is okay - okay but would've been better if we could've written out ENT and Ophthalmology exams this year itself.... because now we got 11 subjects to cover in the final year. Also logbooks are a waste of time and CBME SHOULD consider removing that or reducing the writings we got to do in it.

Internships Opportunities

4

House surgeoncy is the internship we do. It is done for 365 days and we should do extensions otherwise. Got about 2 leaves per posting. Hostel is free but we got to pay for food. Some postings relieve us in the evening while some got 24hr duty

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees including hostel fee is around 7 lakhs of which hostel fees is 1.5 lakhs which includes mess fee. For NRI students, the total fee maybe upto 10lakhs. Since mine is a Christian institution, AC ( All Christian) reservation is there and I got in through that with OBC

Campus Life

2

There are really less clubs and other activities...they are there just for namesake...this college mainly (sometimes only) focuses on academics. There are interbatch sports and arts, we participate in KUHS zonals and intermedicos but not as much as other colleges

Hostel Facilities

5

There are 2 hostels for girls and 2 for boys. In girls hostel, 1st hostel is smaller but all rooms have attached bathroom expected ground floor. And most rooms can be occupied by 2 people but some rooms for 3 or 4 ( corner rooms). Other hostel is bigger and each room can occupy 4 people. Single rooms are also available but at higher rents

Admission

I chose this college as it got a very nice reputation and have a lot of patient in flow which will help to increase my experience while I complete my course. Also I chose this college over others as it is the first private medical college in Kerala and not so far or not so near to my home

Faculty

5

Faculties are all approachable and friendly...they are really good teachers and conducts tests once in a while which helps us to keep up with our studies. The faculties that left an impression on me are Dona ma'am in pharmacology, Sreelekshmi ma'am in pharmacology, Lisamma ma'am of Anatomy, Teena ma'am of microbiology, Asha ma'am of Ophthalmology, Rajan sir and Adersh sir of Ophthalmology, Athira ma'am of medicine

Night Life

3

We have curfew at 9:30 pm and we can access library till then. So there's VERY LITTLE night life...also we are not exactly allowed to hangout outside our campus without our hostel warden's permission which is horrible for adults like us. Morning class starts around 8am. 8 to 9am we got morning lecture. Then 9 to 12pm postings. 12 to 1pm is lunch break and from 2 to 4pm again clas..

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
