Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is very good but syllabus completion the biggest cons of this institute and the only reason behind this is BPUT , Rourkela . who controls this college along with many other colleges like IGIT sarang, GCE Keonjhar , GCE Kalahandi .etc. There is mostly theoretical knoledge rather than pratical knowledge .The teaching methods of the teachers is very nice many of the teachers also use to give questions from previous year GATE papers and encourage us to preare for exams like GATE UPSC ESE and many more. The exam timings are very poor .Without prior syllabus completion they conduct the exams due to official notice releases by BPUT , Rourkela , due to which most of the students have internal and external back.

Internships Opportunities

3

A very less no. of companies introduce internship opportunites for the students of this college . The companies are DRDO , NALCO ,JSW, TAT POWER, JSW and a few others. But most of them are unpaid and students join only for the prestigious certificates the get. DRDO offers a lot of intership opportnities for the scholar studnets from the branches like ETC, EE, CE and ME. I have only this much knowledge about this which have been told by the seniors of this college who are mostly the scholars .

Placement Experience

2

The placemnt in this college is very poor . Like average 3- 4 lakhs per annum in cities like Banglore is not worthy .... The rent of a shared flat/pg is almost 10 to 15 thousands and the inhand salary is almost under 30 thousands and there are a lot of other expenses also. The companies use to visit this college are : WIPRO,TCS,INFOSYS,TATA POWER, JSW, JINDAL PANTHER and many other small startups. The intership opportunities is provided by TATA power, DRDO (UNPAID) and many more but most of them are unpaid . The percentage of students getting placed are almost 60 percent not more thant that for sure . The highest package offered last year was 7 lpa to 3 students and minimum package was 1.3 lpa. From 4th and 5the semester your are almost eligible for internship but after 7the semester you are eigible for campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

For a general category student (BTech fresher): Tuition fees: Rs 12000 (odd semester) Development fees: Rs 7000 (odd semester) LAB maintainance fees: Rs 1500 (odd semster) Registration fees: Rs 1500 (odd semster) , Rs 1500 (eben semester) University Fees: Rs 3500 (odd semester) Students activity fees: Rs 1500 (odd semester) Internal exmaination fees: Rs 1800 (odd semester) Site visit fees: Rs 600 (odd semester) Training and placement fees: Rs 5000 (odd semester) Caution money (one time and refundable): Rs 2500 (odd semester) Alumni Fee (one time): Rs 1500 (odd semester) TOTAL FEES: ODD SEMESTER : Rs 38400 EVEN SEMESTER : Rs 1500 In total Rs 39900/yr There are a lot of scholarships available such as POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP which offers 20000 rs per year to general category student and Rs 40000 per year to SC/ST student, There areanother scholarship such as KRISHI VIDHYA NIDHI YOJNA, GOPABANDHU SCHOLARSHIP , E MEDHABRUTI SCHOLARSHIP.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is very good in this college. The campus is full of greenery . The garden is very beautiful and well maintained which is in front of the main building alobg with a big statue of the the king PARALA . On which the name of the institute was given . There a lot of monkeys inside the campus. There is one 4 storey central library present inside the campus which is inaugurated this year ,all types of books are available inthe central library. There is one refernce room inside the college main building ehre you will get PC and internet service to study . There are a lot of events organised such as SHAURYA (SPORTS EVENT), And EXUBERNACE ANNUAL fest which is organised every year. There are a lot of clubs such as SANSKRUTI CLUB, IMAGICS CLUB , SHADOWS CLUB, CADENCE CLUB, ROBOSTRICS CLUB, ABHUYUDAYA CLUB . Sports like Badminton, volley , cricket, football , kabaddi and kho kho are organised

Hostel Facilities

3

The basic facilities provided in our room is bed, study table , and one cupboard. There are total 3 students accomadation in one single room and the room size are not that great but as expected . The meal quality is very poor and menu is not that good even after taking 55000 rs per year for mess and hostel.THe breakfast is very oily and unhealthy which leads to stomach ache for many studnets . The JEE MAINS ranks must be under 6-7 lakhs if u want in campus hostel . BUt if your rank is more than that then you will be provided the off campus hostel i.e. SMIT HOSTEL AND GOPALPUR JUNCTION HOSTEL. which are almost 10 km from the campus, but bus facility is available for the students I don not know much about rented room or pg available near me as I am a incampus student. So I dont have much idea about them.

Admission

I did not choose this college rather the college choose me due my jee mains rank which is not at all good. But the branch which I have been alloted is been choosen by me. Because I have interest in PSU and othe goverment sectors seeing the condition of IT in India and the no of students in CSE branch . I choose Civil branch in every college in which I have applied for like my choice filling is given below: 1. OUTR BHUBANESWAR (CIVIL-TFW) 2. OUTR BHUBANESWAR (CIVIL) 3.VSSUT BURLA (CIVIL-TFW) 4. VSSUT BURLA (CIVIL) 5. PARALA MAHARAJA ENGINEEREING COLLEGE (CIVIL-TFW) 6.PARALA MAHARAJA ENGINEERING COLLGE (CIVIL) There are total of 4 rounds in ojee councelling and according to that in the first allotment I got PMEC (CIVIL-TFW) and again also in second round I got the same college so after that I locked the choice and took admisssion into this college. Eligibility: To take admission in this college you must have a JEE MAINS rank under 11 lakh .... if you are from general category

Faculty

4

The student to faculty ratio is very good .The strength of class is only 65 for most of the branches. The guest faculties are very knowlegeous and cooperative. But syllabus completion is not possible in time as the college comes under BPUT . So they have to follow the strict rules made by BPUT , Rourkela due to which most of the time goes in events, and other cultural programmes. Due to which syllabus completion is not possible for most of the subjects but you have to give the exam on time . which is one the demerit of this college. There are 2 internal exams exah of 15 marks in each semester and the end sem is of 100 marks . Due to incompletion of course most students have back in some of the subjects which is not a good sign. The course fee is 39900 rs per year for first year then 29900 rs from second year onwards.

Night Life

4

The night life is very good as expected . There a open gym in the playground and one other gym inside the DEBABRATA HOSTEL which has all types of machines as per the requirement of the students and all are well maintained. To take admission you have to pay a monthly fees of Rs 300 to join the gym . The utility block has 1 cafeteria and 3 fast food stalls and 1 amul parlour to hangout with your friends. The hostel entry timing for 1 st year is 8 pm and the campu entry timing is almost 9 to 10 pm as of my knowledge. The famous places to hangouts near the college is GOPALPUR BEACH, ROCK GARDEN which is almost 15 km from the college but the places are safe to roam and also DHABALESWAR TEMPLE, ARYAPALLI BEACH and many more .

Stduents get eligible from 5th semester for placements peaking at 6th semester of the college. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Tiger Analytics etc came but big pacakge placements offers are low . The highest package was 32 LPA and the average goes to 5-6LPA. The percentage goes to 90 % for placements. After getting degree you can go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
