Course Curriculum Overview
As I mentioned earlier, its based on Anna University. They provide vast majority of electives which are interesting to study and are helpful in career. There are some subjects which were not much related to our degree on first and second year. Then third and fourth year (I am currently in my fourth year) are focused on the core topics about our course. It works somewhat well in a real-world perspective. There can be improvement regarding how the subjects works well on real life. The method of teaching can be improved by increasing the ratio of practical learning. The exams are not difficult when it comes to core subjects, I have prior knowledge to it. Also we have the new Naan Mudhalvan scheme which is more interactive and help us to learn more new things easily.
Internships Opportunities
Our college encourages students to get an internship from the third year. Students can get to internship from first year if they can get into one. Some students get into companies suggested directly by our college and get into it with a stipend. The tasks on internship might vary according to the type of internship we choose.
Placement Experience
Campus interview doors will be open for students from 4th year. Students who have no backlogs will be allowed to attend different campus interviews from companies like TCS, Infosys, Zoho and more. There are offers made by these companies from 4 LPA up to 10 LPA and some of our seniors got more according to their skills. Mostly around 80% of the students gets placed in a company. My personal plans after my degree is to continue my entrepreneurial journey as I already have some clients and products build and I love to be on the game development path.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course I've took has tuition fee of 60,000 rs per year for all four years which sums up to 2,40,000 for my four year course. We are allowed to pay semester wise which is 30,000 rs per semester. I haven't applied for any scholarship, Some of my collegemates have applied for different scholarship and gets benefits. There is additionally (book fees if required book), exam fees, and breakage fees on semesters.
Campus Life
There are rarely events like symposiums or technical events conducted. If there is more cultural events and more technical events are conducted, it would be a great campus life experience. There are lots of books in libraries which some of them are outdated and old. New books and related things can be added. Our college added new smart class system. The classrooms are usually cleaned frequently and is neat. When it comes to sports, there can be more improvements and encouragement to students to attend more competitions happening around other colleges. There are only few clubs available in our campus which also can be encouraged by faculties to open more of clubs and give freedom to those clubs to run on their own, learn and teach to upcoming students.
Admission
I've been trying to get into IIT, as my JEE percentile is low, I cannot get into it. Other than that, I haven't searched for any other college, as I went in for late admission as I was in a south India level world skills competition for 3D digital game arts. I am not regret the choice of me joining here, as it gives me the freedom of balancing between the education and to follow my passion. There were no big requirements or eligibility or exams to be accepted into the course. It has specific cut off and they where allowing students according their skill levels if the cutoff is low
Faculty
Faculties are friendly and are ready to help students with their curriculum or career. Our department HOD Mrs. Dhanalakshmi is more towards students side and is always ready to help us with any queries. Professors are nice and there is nothing bad to say about them. If we are doing great, the faculties are going to say nothing about us. There are exams held frequently every week to ensure the knowledge we gain. The curriculum is curated by Anna University as our college is affiliated to Anna University. 90% of the students pass in the exams and clear the semester!
Night Life
There is a cafe which is used on lunchtime or break time. The gym is mostly used by Hostel students, but anyone can use it. The library is mostly used on study hours. Hostel students have timing and gate pass systems that they have to strictly follow. As our college got a good greenery environment we hang around at the ground or outside the playground area or visit medical college which is exactly back to ours or roam around outside after college to hang out. We also play football and some of my friends play volleyball and cricket inside the college campus.
