What Students Say
Likes
- The college is very well maintained as well as it is upgraded each year to make the comfort as well as the convenience of the students a top priority.
- The classes were spacious and could accommodate around 100-120 students in a go. This made managing exams and other activites easy for the management and teachers
- The teachers provided the students with so much theoretical knowledge and helped them to experience the practical aspects of everything. Activities such as RAW War and Barter charter, helped students find out what they are good at.
Dislikes
- The management of lectures was bad. Sometimes the students have to wait 2 hours just because the management failed to allot classes or the teacher is not present on duty. This made the hours of college hectic, students have had to wait till 4:40 p.m
- The placement cell was not upto the mark, students were not able to get their dream job, and had to settle for a job from which they had to resign after 2-3 months.
- The college emphasised on activities more than studying. If the students were goven appropriate time and opportunities, they might be able to study well
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for this course just because i wanted to upskill myself and apply for better jobs which required an MBA degree or any masters degree of some sort. When i got there for my counselling, they were very helpful to me because they gave me all the insights and told me about the culture at the campus. They also had 100% placement guidance guarantee, and they had great packages. The teaching methods and the curriculum was too, very intriguing and very interesting, it was worth a shot to study and find out. Other than that, the cost of the MBA degree was way lesser as compared to other colleges and they had a great infrastructure as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost per sememester ranged between 43000 to 47000 depending on various fee such as admission fee, security etc. There was no exception for any reserved catagory. But international students were supposed to pay approximately double (1000 dollars) along with extra for hostel and other amenities. PCTE does not give any kind of scholarship.
Campus Life
The annual festival of PCTE is called Koshish. It is a 3 day event, where the intra college, inter college, and inter schools events such as debates, group discussions, indian dance, western dance, group dance, singing etc are performed. It is done at a vast scale and the last night is the best of all... the final round of the fashion show is conducted followed by a celebrity singer ending the show with a bang. Last to last year, satinder sartaj was the guest of honour. The library- the library was a vast compound of books. There were enough books for all the students in the campus. There are 2 campuses and both campuses have a total of 4 libraries. The classrooms- the classrooms were all spacious enough to reside atleast 60-65 students having multiple fans and atleast 2 A.C.s in each room. The classrooms also had projectors where the presentations were shown. The college also started smart screens which helped the students better.
Admission
I applied at this college because of many opportunities that were being provided by the college, the teaching staff, as well as it was well recommended by my friends and peers. This college was all a person needed to excell, along with the low fees that the college offered helped me to make a decision quicker. I also applied to 2 other colleges and was accepted, but this college was at the top of my list and i wanted to study there. Because it was considered as an elite campus and combined with the low cost, it was a bargain. The eligibility criteria for the campus to be eligible for mba was a graduate degree with minimum 70% marks. Then there was the interview round with the head of department, and then the interview with the dean. After all that, the student was selected.
Faculty
All of the teachers at PCTE were great. There were some teachers who had personal grudge with the students because of some mishap, but doesn't everyone? The teachers helped the students till the last second. They provided the students with helpful insights and tips and tricks for the students to go through with everything. The students had an amazing relationships with all the teachers. Exams were tough, but never out of syllabus. And most of the times, it was all discussed before as well as after the exams. Dedicated Lectures regarding the go through of the question papers was the necessary practice. The best teacher at the college was Dr. Gautam Bansal. He was the pinnacle of knowledge! He was the dean at the time we were studying. He was the best at the craft and he was a fair teacher. He did not have favourites, every student was his own and he looked at them with same eyes. He always helped students grow out to be the best. His standard practice when having a lecture was to discuss recent news for the beginning of the lecture, this helped students to get more insight of how to look the current affairs with the eyes of a marketer and how to get the best out of the situation
Night Life
The nightlife at the campus was also great, the security was tight and the hostels were all out of the college itself. The food at the college mess was also great and the students never complained. The college provided travel convenience for the students residing in the hostels. There were separate hostels, one for the male students, one for female students and one for international students
