- Sometime adds unnecessary fines and Unless you pay the fine they won't give you the admit card and won't let you sit for the exam.
- Non-local students or colleges face a lot of trouble due to local students.
Course Curriculum Overview
BCA is a good course that helps us get into multiple IT job fields. I wanted to pursue B.Tech, but due to financial issues, I opted for BCA instead. BCA in this college doesn't prepare you for real-world scenarios. If you want a good job, you'll have to work hard on your own. In this college's BCA program, they only teach languages like C and C++. They should add trending topics to the curriculum. We get 3 hours to solve an 80-mark exam paper. Sometimes, 3 hours are not enough to complete the paper, but otherwise, the exam is easy and can be completed within 3 hours.
Fees and Financial Aid
1. Annual Fees: ?55,000 per year, paid as ?27,500 per semester before the exams; otherwise, students are not allowed to take the exam. 2. Scholarships Based on 12th Board Exam Scores: 70% and above: ?10,000 scholarship. 80% and above: ?15,000 scholarship. 90% and above: ?20,000 scholarship. Scholarship deducted from the total course fees. 3. University Registration Fees: Approximately ?6,500 per year. 4. College Uniform: Must be purchased from the college at ?5,000. 5. Fresher's Party Fees: Approximately ?500, collected upon admission. 6. Attendance Fine: ?500 to ?6,000, depending on the attendance shortfall. 7. No Caste-Based Benefits: Fees are equal for all castes. Scholarships based on semester exam results are only awarded if the student has a reservation (SC, OBC, ST, etc.). General category students are not eligible for these scholarships based on semester exam results. I hope this helps! If you need further clarification, feel free to ask.
Campus Life
There are only a few fests held at DPG Degree College each year, like the Diwali fest and a few other small programs. In most of these programs, not all students are invited. The college library has many books, but most are only available for semester exams, and the library management is very poor. Classrooms have ACs, but many of them don't work. Each classroom is equipped with a smart LCD TV or projector, but the faculty mostly use whiteboards or smartboards and rarely use the projectors. The college campus is very beautiful, and multiple sports tournaments are organized there.
Admission
I chose this college because it is the closest to my home, and compared to other colleges, the course fees are lower. I wanted to get admission into a government college but couldn't clear the cutoff. I was accepted into another government college, but I had already paid a year's fees in advance to DPG Degree College, which is not refunding the money. Admission to this college is not merit-based or exam-based. They offer direct admission, and students from any field, such as humanities, commerce, or science, can join the BCA program. Math is not compulsory.
Faculty
Some college faculty are very good, but a few are uncooperative and don't communicate well. The admission department is helpful during admissions, but afterward, they often send students back and forth without resolving issues. 1. DPG College offers two types of BCA courses: 3 years: Normal BCA 4 years: Advanced BCA 2. The syllabus for both courses is different. 3. The exam pattern for the BCA course is very difficult: The question paper has a total of 5 questions. The 1st question has 8 parts, each worth 2 marks, and all parts need to be answered. The remaining 4 questions each have 2 parts, and students need to answer one part of each question. Each of these questions is worth 16 marks. 4. Despite writing a lot in the exams, students often receive low marks. 5. In every semester, many students fail, regardless of how much they write in their exams.
Night Life
The area outside the college is not safe for walking around at night. However, within the college campus, there are 3 canteens and a cafeteria where students can comfortably hang out at night. The area outside the campus is not safe at night. Students are not allowed to leave the hostel at night; they can only roam within the college campus.
