Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for my course that is electrical engineering consists of understanding the circuits all around us so i was always curious about it so ive chosen electrical engineering for that. The curriculum actually prepares for real world applications in the electrical fields really well. The improvement that can be done is to provide much more real world application subjects rather than some theoritical ones. The frequency of the exams with difficulty level of course is quite moderate and not that hectic for now.
Internships Opportunities
The main internship oppurtinities available is given by Gujarat Technological University and AICTE having many domains to intern and get skilled into. MAny projects with branch related are done and main outcomes from internships are skills and get readt for the real world.
Placement Experience
From semester 7 end the students are eligible for campus placements. The companies coming are wipro, tcs, infosys, reliance, adani, etc and te number of offers im not aware of. The highest package offered in our branch for 2024 was 13 lpa which was placed in wipro. The percentage of students getting placed are 100% for my college. My plan after my degree is to appear for GATE exam and go for masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester wise fees is around 1200 ruppees as it is a government college so yearly fees would be around 2400, but if u have joined hostel then it would be around 4000 in total including hostel, the fees of hostel mess is not taken it is taken on how many times u eat there on a daily basis. The fees is the same for general and obc, but it is 50% less for sc/st categories. scholarships are provided from government on cgpa basis.
Campus Life
I am not aware of tech fests happening as this is just my first sem but i have joined a club called Sahitya Sarita where events for gujarati literature, folk songs and performances take place, and for this club, 2-3 events happen each year. The library facility is top notch the there are a very wide range of books avaialable. Inter-hostel sports tournaments, inter branch, inter gtu events take place each year and other activites are provided by clubs run by students. IETE, Sahitya Sarita, Robocon, Rotaract club, are some of the clubs here at LDCE and they impact greatly providiving good communication skills, technical, and good connections and friends.
Admission
I applied to SVNIT and DAIICT along with this college but i did not get into that colllege for the same courses. I had gotten admission in Nirma and MSU but i chose this college because 1. Nirma was too expensive for me 2. MSU- LD ranks higher than MSU in overall ranking and placement oppurtinites are better. I didnt get into SVNIT electrical because my JEE mains rank was 27000 and cutoff was 20000, for DAIICT my acpc rank was 2032 and the cutoff was really high this year going upto only 300. The admission procedure of my college is quite simple, u have to register through ACPC (Admission comitte for professional courses) where u can apply through JEE as well as BOARD+GUJCET
Faculty
The faculties present are very engaging with students the ratio is 40:1 so it is quite good. I personally liked Neel Patel sir he's our physics faculty, his teaching style ois unique and interesting we have fun, Pragnesh Sir of math faculty is an expert in his subject and the concept understanding is perfect. There isn't any faculty i did not like particularly as they were quite good and thought for the good of our students, i could say i was rather neutral with Hiral Raval ma'am. First there is mid-sem exams, they are neutral and sometimes tough, for physics the failing ratio is much higher as difficulty level is higher. but for other subjects in sem1 the failing are around 10-15 students from 160. The course curriculum is pretty relevant to the course chosen as the basics are required but one subject UHV was not required,
Night Life
The nitghtlife around my college is amazing as the college is at the centre of our city Ahmedabad so everything is around the corner here. The timings are not strict for hostel and campus. The famous hangout place inside college is obviously the canteen, outside is the alpha mall, the gym i go to black rhino fitness which is near the college as the college is at the centre of the city it is always awake at night so it can be said that locality is safe to roam around at night.
Other Applied Colleges
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology - [DA-IICT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (VLSI Design)
I opt for this college because it is a very reputed college since a long time and it hasnt lost its reputation it is still one of the best engineering colleges in my state.
