Course Curriculum Overview
The course is attractive and creative. It is less stress bearing and has the potential to develop your individual skills here . The drawback I see is the year back system in which students failed willnot get a chance for supplementary exam which is followed by mbbs. The curriculum has importance in clinical knowledge and practice. This improve the skills in procedures and patient compliance.
Internships Opportunities
The internship begins from 4&half year after. Periods of internship is 1 year Most of the department covering an average of 30 days . The stipend paid is about 28000 per month. A paid leave of 1 day is only allowed during this period. Each department there are quotas to complete and then only you can go out.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees in Kerala seats are 28810 rupees annually which is required for 4 1/2 years . During the joining process , a caution deposit and pta fund which is about a sum of 15000 has to be paid . Union fee of 5000 is also required. Scholarship provided by government of Kerala (egrantz ) is available for minority and persons with income below 2 lakhs. Scholarship from sensodyne and Colgate is also provided to dental colleges all across india
Campus Life
The college union conducts programs for students In the college. In an year , there is an arts fest ,college day , sports fest , tarang sports fest , intercollege programs , interbatch programs, all festival celebrations. Besides this there a re programs arranged by mbbs union open for all . Convocation are also good programs to enjoy here .
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is inside the campus , which is given during the allotment. Yearly the room gets allotted and there is change in rooms. You have double ,single rooms and combined rooms available. Common bathrooms and washing machine facilities are provided . Parking area for students vehicle is present. The food is delicious and nutritious. A well neat maintained food hall are provided. The pgs outside are not much recommended as they require high pays
Admission
The admission is completely merit based and is done by cee Kerala across all colleges. This is a government college and out of 9 in Kerala ,here the travel , accomodation etc are better . The faculties and colleagues are also well supportive in nature . This place is also very adjacent locality to my home ,which was also a factor in selection . The admission was based on neet ranking and adjacent Kerala rank.This goes through allotments.
Faculty
The college comes under Kerala University of health and applied science. We have a system updated from 2016 scheme . The exam is in year wise pattern and each of them have to clear the exams with minimum 50%of marks in theory out of 70 . Two internals and a model exam are conducted by the faculty. The faculties are approachable and well experienced in,most of them communicates with the students well. A student who fail to clear exam will have to wait for 6 months for next exam to appear. The exams are of moderate difficulty.
Night Life
There are cafeteria in and out the college . Both are good and reasonable in price . There are hangout places near college and campus is also wise enough you can find many spots. There is a ground developed for all the games and athletic events . Jogging tracks are also there . Various playground are there in this large campus . Night there are lamps on the roadsides ,which is more convenient for students. Hostel is near to the college ,mainly two hostels which is combined for mbbs and bds . Both hostels are equipped with mess and separate cafeteria inside
