What Students Say
Likes
- First of all the teachers are so experienced and they know how to teach every student like if I am having any problem with my studies they will know what trouble I am having and how to teach me
- I can enjoy hostel facilities If I want and that is pretty affordable like 2500 for a whole year
- If due to any serious reason I can't come to college and this is affecting my studies I can ask teachers to teach me personally on zoom they are super kind and helpful
Dislikes
- The building is old and sometimes fans and lights don't work so it feels super hot in the summers
- There is no playground or any kind of sports equipments they have a social activities lecture but there is no teacher alloted for that
- Bathrooms are quite dirty and sometimes the drinking water is murky too
Course Curriculum Overview
I think the courses they offer have manifold career options in future because all of them are skill based and you will have to do a training as well before getting your certificate basically to polish your skills so you will have no problem in the future because you will learn mostly everything you need to learn about the field you chosen in fact you will be trained about that too the only flaw I can see is even if you are choosing mechanical engineering, civil engineers or computer science in your first year you will have to study subjects like environmental studies, some computer related subjects and I think for a mechanical student environmental studies and computer subject have no means like they are not going to help him in future this only increases the academic pressure so the extra subject which are of no use in that course should be removed and if I talk about examination you have to give MST every month and a final exam for per semester and the timing are freat too like this really helps
Fees and Financial Aid
Actually, according to me the fees structure here in my college is pretty reasonable because they charge you according to your percentage you attained in your senior secondary or your 10th standard if you have a percentage of 60 to 70 you will be charged with 10,500 for 1st,3rd and 5th semester and for 2nd,4th,and 6th you will be charged with 3300 rupees per sem and if have hired percentage your fees is going to be way lower like for 70 to 80 the fees is around 9000 and for 80 to 90 it's 3300 and if you have above 90 your fees is going to be waiver along with that students and enjoy many benefits like scholarship and if a student belongs to SC or ST he will have to pay lesser amount of fees than the others according to me this college is pretty affordable
Campus Life
The only thing which is celebrated in this college is annual function of the college which is also known as youth festival which is typically held near March where all the students take part in social activities, dramas ,dance, folk dances and singing, skits etc everyone enjoy the festival that day * There is no library in the college and if there is any then it's mostly closed because I haven't seen that open any day so this is a real problem * This is great that the kind of course you have you will be provided with the kind of machinery you need to practice on in the college for example if you are a computer science student you will be provided with computers and if you are a mechanical student you will be provided with the kind of machinery you need to practice your skills on *There are no equipment for your sports or extra activities and there is no teacher alloted for that too so don't expect to be offered with some kind of sports or something *Students have made some clubs but most students avoid to join that or to be influenced by them because here most of students thinks that it's the wastage of time those clubs only do is helping in the seminar held in the college
Admission
I chose this college because first of all it is close to my residence , secondary they provide skill based courses which I think are way better than persuing those overrated courses other than that I got rejected from PGGC because of my 2 years gap I had a gap because I was planning to move to Canada for my further studies but things didn't go as planned so I changed my plans after 2 years , If you want to take admission in G)C Mohali first requirement is you need to have at least 30 percent of marks in your 10th or senior secondary you will be accepted directly in second year of you have choosen subjects like physics chemistry maths in your senior secondary you can have a cutoff in your fees according to your percentage you have I think the admission process is pretty easy and straight forward so noone is going to have any trouble with that and there are always staff members to help you out with your admission process so you don't have to worry about that my overall experience was awesome
Faculty
The teachers are super nice and helpful they are always there to help every single student in fact they can provide you with personal lectures if needed along with that they have numerous courses a student can opt so there are various choices as your career options and if I talk about the marking scheme one thing I can surely say the staff if super honest so you can't bribe them but if I come to marking it is not lenient at all more than 80 percent of students get at least a reappear in their first year and like 50 percent of students drop out the college in 2nd year because the marking system you have to pass your internal as well as external examination if you want to pass a subject you need to have 75 percent of attendance at least or you will fail along with that you need to pass your practical too so basically everything counts and you need to pass everything individually
Night Life
My college is located near a metropolitan city so there are various facilities near the college there are various food chains, gyms, parks, library, bus stand, whatever you need you can easily find there even the clubs there are various places to hangout in the day or at night like you can go to sector 17 , Sukhna lake , and the closest is Amayara where sometimes celebrities are located there too so you might get a chance to meet them
