Likes
- The student communities which provide you a way to interact with like minded people and share your ideas.
- The friendliness with technology and supporting students in learning enw things.
Dislikes
- The less number of permanent faculties, which lacks in providing mentors to students. Majorly 1-2 permanent faculties are looking all the work which makes them busy and unavailable for students.
- The delay is some processes like report card.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I chose is, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence which has a high demand. The course contains all the relevant knowledge that is required for today's developing era. The curriculum makes us industry ready. More practical knowledge could be provided.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for placements in their last semester. The companies like TCS, VOLVO Eicher, Wipro, IBM, Tiger Analytics, Xault Analytics, Yash Technologies, Flipkart. The highest package was 22-25 lakhs in our department. Taking about university, the highest package went in crors. From the department the placed students percentage is moderate, reason being our course Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is new in the university and among other colleges too. My plan is get a job as an ML Engineer.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has a semester system. Students are required to pay their fees in the first month of every semester. Which is nearly around 38000 for girls and 40000 for boys. The caution fees for the admission is 1000. If you opt for library card it again has a caution fee of 1000 rs with 300 rs yearly fees which ain't included in college fees.
Campus Life
The University's infrastructure is good. The department could be upgraded with sufficient classes and clean and proper washrooms. The books and journals are available in library and students can issue books from department library without any extra fees. The limited technical facilities are present in classroom. The University has a good and sufficient opportunities for sports. Yes we have different tech communities in our department. I'm also a part of two such communities that organise tech events for making students aware latest trends and technology, organising workshops and and Hackathons to make a competitive environment.
Admission
I applied for GSITS AND Acropolis. I chose this college over other cause of the specialisation course in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Secondly, cause it's a government college. I was getting other branches like electronic in GSITS but in acropolis I was getting CS/IT but I wanted to pursue Data Science. The DAVV University conducts their separate exam for admission that is called CUET.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is less. Mostly are visiting faculties. The in-house faculties must be increased. The good faculties are Dr. Shishir Shandilya, Dr Vandit Headau, Dr. Anupam Jain and our former HOD Lt. Dr. VB Gupta. All are I house faculties and they good and supportive but due to time constraints and more responsibilities are unable to devote sufficient time to students. Each semester is of 4-5 month. Every semester we have an end semester and three internals. Out of three internals, 2 are written test and 1 is assignment /practical. The score of best of two internals out of three is considered with the end semester exam score to prepare the final grades. Each exam so of moderate level and majority of students clear the tests. The course ciriculum is completely relevant.
Night Life
The college is a government college so there are many restrictions. The government hostels are out for the university campus. Roaming in the college campus at night is strictly prohibited. There is a decent canteen in college that is open in day time. Out of the campus there are various Caffè and restaurants where students can go.
