Course Curriculum Overview

3

As I said earlier, the university syllabus that I am studying has so much outdated information, and it is more focused on theoretical classes. Because of that, it is lacking in giving the skill development that can only be gotten through practical classes. Also because of want to make sure all students win in the exams, teaching staffs cant focus more to give skill developement for students. The university also has the problem of late exams, which results in reduced next semester days for studies.

Internships Opportunities

3

In the first year there will not be anything like an industrial visit or college tour or internship. In the second year, there will be an industrial visit to some places that helps to watch and get information about working processes and their cultures in the workplace in their own media fields. In the third year, college will provide the internship. In that time we can choose companies for internships, or college will take us to any company for internships. There will be companies like Toonz Animation for internships with some entry fees that have certificates of more value. Also in the third year there will be a college tour, which will go to South Indian places according to the budget that students can afford.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am studying now is BA multimedia, a 3-year degree, joined in 2023. My semester-wise fees are 24000 rupees. In a year, for 2 semesters, I want to pay 48,000 rupees. I got the seat in merit. I think the fees for the management seat are an extra 10,000 with the first semester fees. Now, the fees of the course are changed to around 30,000 for the new four-year UG program. But my fees are not changed. I think compared to other colleges here, the fees are more affordable and have more experienced staff. But, still need to improve more technology and more practical section classes.

Campus Life

3

The college campus ambience is average. They celebrate every festival, like Onam, X-mas, Valentine's Day, Animation Day, etc., in small-scale programs. All programs are planned and conducted by students under some teaching facilities. Because it is a media college, it has its own festival that is called Vividh that is conducted every year. It is an art show that showcases the students artworks and modern technology artworks and all other kinds of arts. It is a three- to four-day festival. On the last day there will be a screening of short films that the students created, and it will have the best category nominations.

Admission

Actually, I applied here at Chethana College at the top of the application list. Because I knew that this is a media college that only teaches media courses. Because of that, I thought I could make more contacts and more communication between people who have similar dreams of achieving goals. Happily, I got some communication with people who want to get media job fields and people who are working now in the media job fields.

Faculty

3

College teaching and non-teaching staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of the teaching staff have experience in their own media fields like photography, graphic design, film direction, etc. Because of that they can teach more efficiently.  But the syllabus that I am now studying has so much outdated information and more theoretical classes. Because of that, teachers can only teach by paying attention to the syllabus in order to make all the students pass the exams. I think the new syllabus for the four-year UG program has more improved practical sections.

Night Life

2

Actually, the college time is 9 am to 6 pm. Students are only allowed to stay in that time. Classes start at 9:30 am and finish at 3:30 pm. Colleges have a library, multimedia labs, studios, a college canteen, etc. Students can draw their artworks on walls with the permission of college management. College does not have a proper hostel. But the college provides a house that was rented to stay with one teaching staff.

Exams are held each semester and are moderately difficult beacuse of this, so practical training and teaching methods need improvement.

I chose this course as because I like English Literature. The student ratio that my class own is about 48 students in total. Majority of the teachers who are posted there are those who have qualified with NET (NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST). The current HOD is one of the retired Assistant Professor from one of the renowned college around Kozhikode town. Internal exam were timely, but coming to University exams it was so restless. But as if now, it is getting into the track again by conducting exams on time.
