My experiences in the institute

The course affiliated to us is very much relevant to our real life. It gives us practical experiences about the subject and it also helps us to apply those studied concepts into our real life. Thus it makes us opt for the subject and helps us to get more knowledge about the subject.

The college itself recommends some places for internship opportunities. There is a compulsory internship program that gives some credits that are added to the graduation paper in the final year. There are also compulsory projects and internships in the final semesters.

In the final semester the students will be eligible for the campus placements. Separate WhatsApp group will be started to notify all the placements approched through the college management. More than 150 companies visited and many offers are made by them. The average package is around 40000. Almost around 80 - 90 % students get placed.

The year fees for the bsc botany course in St. Joseph's College is Rs. 18000, the registration fees is rupees 100. The college management provides Scholarships for the downtrodden people and helps in assist their studies. They also provide free meal for the students who are acceptable for that. The college provides Jesuit education support, Minority scholarship for Bc, MBC students and Sc St scholarships are also given.

The festivals celebrated are indep (interdepartmental programs, Christmas, Pongal, diwali, new year celebrations. The Arrupe library is one of the biggest libraries in the district. Wide range of books are available for studies and reference. There are seperate projectors in the classrooms for ppt presentation and classes. Sports is one of the major factors of this college. There are many groups and students support council present in the campus.

The hostel facility is very good. The rooms are very neat and tidy. The food quality is awesome and tastes really good. The registration process for the hostel is through online and the hostels are affordable compared to other institutes.

I had applied to holy cross, Trichy. But the academic fees is very high there compared to St. Joseph's. I did not get rejected in any other colleges. The process of admission in our college is through online mode only and the fees payment is also through online. After completing all the admission process through online, the classes will be conducted offline.

The faculties of the college are very friendly and if you obey them they will help a lot for your studies and future researches if to be pursued. The most liked faculty by me is Dr. A. Egbert Selwin Rose his way of teaching is excellent when compared to others and he is very patient and have helping tendency. There are totally 6 semesters of which 12 internal exams will be conducted and some components will be given. The course curriculum is very relevant to your subject.

There is a gym in the college and there are 3 food stations (canteens) available. There are 2 hostels inside the campus and 2 hostels outside the campus and there are Jesuit homes present outside of the campus. The location is perfectly safe to roam around during the night times as there are people surrounded.
