Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing PGDM in Research and Business Analytics, I selected this course because it was available at my CAT score and main reason, I wanted to go for coding. But found this course was the best course in LBSIM, students placed are better because of the skill-set they aquire. This course teaches a mix of data analytics, marketing, finance and strategy. Exams are moderately difficult. Teaching methods include case analysis taught by one of the best faculty.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were decent. highest ranging from 150,000 for two months. Avg being 30,000 The projects were not that difficult. I interned at Capgemini, enjoyed my experience with great learnings too. Company's like ICICI, Moodys, Deloitte, Marsh offered PPOs too. 63-64 people got placed at Top companies (MNC's) out of 360. Next 100 in decent startups with decent roles. Rest got in okayish companies with not very good learnings but they upskilled themselves, most of them are now placed at great companies.
Placement Experience
Its November and 60 companies have visited so far for second year. Most companies came with the package of 11-12. Highest was 17 ( 7 variable). Second highest was 14.65 by Accenture (fixed component). Lowest so far is 8 (with 1 variable) . We have a cap on 8 Lakh, Companies like KPMG, Deloitte, Oxane Partners, Genpact, Capgemini are prominent recruiters.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is available on merit-cum-means basis of 1,00,000/- Top students get merit award of 31000/- Fees is approx 140000 for two years hostel is approx 192000/- There are two kind of seats, general and corporate sponsored. CS is a bit expensive and less ROI.
Campus Life
We have 17 clubs. All clubs are managed by student body, The management grid comprises of 6 members. We have few cells too, Alumni Cell, Public Relations Cell and Corporate Interface. We have 3 major events. 1 is Aaramb, then is Tatva (annual fest) and Ranbhoomi (sporsts fest) We have scopus subscription and other 10-12 subscriptions which I never used. I used scopus for my paper.
Hostel Facilities
Room was good. College is in Sector 11, but I got girls hostel in Sector 7. Very good area with market. Meal and quality was eatable and decent for first few months. Towards the end, curd and few things became inedible. Warden is not that good. Doesnt pay attention to concerns. Electricity bill was around 2000+ for a month for one room for us. My friend paid 7000/- per month per room too. I dont know why so expensive. Was it Delhi or our hostel. Rooms costs round 19000/-. but yes good decent place to live if we ignore warden and bills.
Admission
I was offered admission by Fore, Delhi, NMIMS Bangalore, Hyderabad, GLIM Gurgaon but I talked to people of different colleges on Linkedin. I found that LBSIM people were good at interactions and overall location, curriculum suited me the most. The admission process had a GD followed by PI. I was selected through CAT but selection through XAT is also availble. Cut off ranges from 72 percentile for RBA to 84 percentile for General. I had wailist at Fore, which got clear after the first round but the response of LBSIM's RBA was better than Fore's BDA
Faculty
Teachers are really very approachable. I can literally consult them for any issue without any hesitation. If I had to name a few, Dr. Rashi, Dr. Khushboo, Dr. Anchal, Dr. Sheela are few faculties I adore the most. We have two exams in a trimester. Mid term and end term. Mid term is 20 marks and End-Term is 40 marks. Rest is projects.
Interview Experience
I got social media bane or boom as my GD. GD topics were based on randomised selection. some people got diificult sets too. I went through current topics and made sure I was well versed with the news. They asked the current news of the day. Front page which was about Silicon valley.
Night Life
Campus life is not that great as we dont have residential campus. Library is open till 6 pm. Cafeteria till 8ish. Gym is available throughout( never tried late night or early morning). Metro connectivity is great like 7 mins walking distance.
