Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum looks great from afar and its actually quite good but the college is fond of changes in the curriculum once in a while. It can get qiiye annoying when they do. The exams are very frequent, you can expect an exam every month and there will also be quizes and assignments often. The curriculum is academic driven, you won't be having too much time in your hands. It is relevant but the frequent changea every year is disturbing

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are sparse, the college is above average witn campus placements but internships are meager, you need to be really good to get it. If you don't get an internship in your final year, you are obligated to do a capestone project

Placement Experience

4

The campus placements in VIT AP are a thing to debate about. While am not the right person to comment on this as , I am opting for foreign studies. From what i see , its not bad. You might land a job if you actually try. You need good cgpa and good skills to land a job. Highest package last year was 60 lpa only for one female. Average was 7-8 lpa. Least being 4-5 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee is for tuition is, 195000 for category 1 310000 for category 2 402000 for category 3 445000 for category 4 While the tution fee is not increasing, the hostel fee might increase 10-15k a year, currently it is 140000 an year. There were scholarship opportunities provided by the previous government for eamcet students. But there is no clarity for that scholarship this intake as there is a change in government. For these eamcet students the fee would be 70000 as a part of scholarship. The hostel fee remains same for everyone, there is no concession regarding that matter

Campus Life

4

I was a club vice president so am more than eligible to answer this. There will be one technfest callef VITAPP and onr cultural fest called VITOPIA. VITOPIA is a big cultural event in college, the guests who visit the events are also big shots. There will be club events once every week so there is no week with no event in the college excluding the exam week The library is medium sized. It has wide range of books for every field. There is a future plan in college to expand library a bit more The classrooms have a board and a projector. The usage of the projector depends on the faculty. Only the labs are equipped with ac's. The usual class rooms are non ac. The sport's and extracurricular is just existing. Nothing too extra ordinary, the sports faculty is just fine Yes there are many clubs in our college. more than 50 clubs, you can also open your own club if you are strong enough in those aspects

Hostel Facilities

4

Following are the details of hostel room types, 4 bed ac apartment 4 bed ac 2 bed ac apartment 2 bed ac 5 bed ac 4 bed non ac apartment 4 bed non ac 2 bed non ac apartment 2 bed non ac 10-15 bed dorms are also available The fee changes for every room type. Check the college site for fee details. The food is above average to average in most hostel blocks. Your cooked if you got into mens hostel 3, because the food is very bad in that block. The menu has enough varieties. The hostels are expensive and the fee of hostel increases every year. Mandadam is the best place if u want to take a pg, because it costs half the college hostel. But you might get distracted with your studies if ur not strong in willpower.

Admission

The admission process to my college is simple. You need to take VITEEE exam and score good enough to get category one so that the fee is reasonable.Or you need to get a great rank in eamcet to bag yourself a scholarship. I could only give VITEE in my school days due to covid, leaving vit my only choice.

Faculty

5

Faculty is the catch here ,all most all the faculties are great in their field. But not all of them are good teachers . I would say only 40% of our professors are good at teaching. While the curriculum changes every once in a while. There are 3 exams per sem. Cat1(15 weightage), cat2 (15 weightage), fat(30 weightage). You can score the rest by lab marks, internals, quizes and assignments. So ur weightage is 60% exams and 40% internals. The grading system is as follows S(10), A(9), B(8) ,C (7), D(6), E(7), F(0). The grading is relative for 90% of the subjects, which means ur grade is dependent on the class average and your classmates. To pass the course you need go score above 40 in Fat and 50% in weightage.

Night Life

2

The night life in college is very dull. The hosteld are strict, so they don't alloe you outside after 9. There is night mess until 12:30 in the night. The gym opens up in the morning at 5 and closes at 8, it reopens again at 5 in the evening running till 8:30. Almost all the mens hostel has gym in their respective blocks and its free. The college also offers paid gym which has better equipment than hostel gym.

I think in the government University there was less opportunity for placements because the college dod not pay money for placements to approach them. But some placements was came and give the intership for the students as per the written exam for their company.I think starting 75 percent is required for the placements.
