Course Curriculum Overview
As an economics course, the curriculum is similar to a BSc course as there are 3-4 semesters of Mathematics and Statistics that a student must take. It is also very interdisciplinary with newer batches having Power BI, Python and Excel as a part of the course to perform necessary data analysis
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees differs for each specialisation. The most expensive is the BCom with ACCA which is around 1.5L per year while other courses are a lot cheaper. Honours courses are more expensive with a premium of 15-20k per year. Different feee brackets exist for SC/ST, Maharashtra Domiciled, Indian, NRI and OCI, SAARC and International students.
Campus Life
Several events take place throughout the year such as Symagine, SynchronisMUN, Waxing Eloquent, Symphoria, National Sports Day celebration and more. There are countless clubs that operate in the club catering to the diverse interests of the students as well
Admission
I only applied to Symbiosis as I intended to study in Pune and liked the culture of the college. Admissions are given to students based on the marks scored in their 12th grade exams for Bachelors and UG for Masters.
Faculty
The faculty for economics if highly qualified with a lot of experience. Even the younger professors have several fellowships and research projects under their belt. The student to faculty ratio varies from class to class and can be as low as 1:10 and as high as 1:80 depending on the classes.
