Course Curriculum Overview
Actually, I was hoping for MBBS course but due to less marks I got BAMS seat in this college. After joining this course I am convinced that this course is right for me because of its great importance and practicality in real life. The experience about learning Ayurveda has been truthful. The curriculum has great knowledge and provides an practical experience to start the practice in real life at hospitals and various institutes. I believe that the curriculum has enough knowledge but needs to work more on its practical application and relativity with modern medical science in book as well as in teaching. Exams are held every once in one and a half years on university level but unit test are taken every 6 month.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees of about 18000 paid at the time of admission for entire Course. Includes tuition and all basic fees, sports fees, etc. Hostel fees separate of ?600 per year only for accommodation. Separate bill for electricity and maintenance (cleaning etc) of about 600-700 per month based upon actual bill. Examination fees of ?500 per subject for subjects attended...rest expenditure are personal. Scholarship given to Locals by CM scheme but not available for AIQ students. Fees is same for everyone despite the background. Reservations work only upto admission
Campus Life
This college has a last library with the number of book but the number of jourals are somewhat less. Fesstivities here are generally Vinayak Chaturthi Celebration sponsored and managed by students, freshers party sponsored and managed by students in February Month and Sports day once a year in January sponsored partially by both Government and students but managed by students. Every event is supervised by professor. The campus is a lot smaller than one can expect from a medical college and lacks a playground so sports are limited. There are no student run social group, clubs, portals or anything except and Instagram page.
Hostel Facilities
I live in a Government Boys' Hostel which is at a great Location. Market, Train Station ,bus stand, banks, everything is accessible on foot. Hostel room in spacious enough but rooms are limited. It comes with fans and lights and a cupboard. Also has indoor badminton court. Mess is unstable but menu is decided by students as it is run by students. South items only offered in menu. To get into hostel, submit letter to principal which will accept your request based on vacancy.
Admission
To get admission in the college one needs to get enough marks in NEET exam and apply through counselling channels online. AACCC is for all India Quota admission and Dr.NTR university website for state counselling based on merit. I had applied to multiple colleges of North without any bonds (which were very limted) for BAMS but got admission in South colleges like this one. I opted this college because of its easy connectivity and low fees.
Faculty
A class has about 60-70 students against capacity of 75. Faculty is less as compared to students with deputations of Medical Officers to help in this field. Faculty are cooperative and approachable. Some are old and skilled but may seem slightly cranky. Exams once in 1.5 years which are university level but if you fail, you might have to give it multiple times.
