Remarks

The college is good and carries a very good brand name. Sadly, nobody was aware of the pathetic condition of the MBA department and how poorly the students were being treated. Even if we tell, nobody believed us. Ethiraj college carries an image of a fun to go place.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good, updated and suitable to the current need. They add extra skill based classes for the students to get an upper hand in the industry. It is a two year course, divided by 6 months semester.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements and intership were not up to the mark. Hardly 2 to 3 companies come. Even if the company is not good, students are forced to join, just because they have come to the college. One company offered internship offer for 12 hour work and stipend was 5000 Rs.

College Events

1

Paradigm, Shrishti are the prominent events. Paradigm is exlusive for MBA department and all the efforts are put by the students. Srishti is a all UG classes event.Other than that, farewell, founders day, teachers day, children's day are celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible. Good thing is, there is no donation asked. It was slightly less when compared to other colleges offering the same course. Also, there is no discount in the education quality offered and the college has a brand name of its own.

Fees and Financial Aid

It was a premium course, so scholarship and loan facility was not offered. We were not even aware of any such scholarship offered by Government for such courses. We got this response, even when we enquired about it to the college department.

Campus Life

2.5

Sports event, entrepreneur day, computer lab were present. These things were not exclusive for the MBA department. They belonged to the UG classes and whenever it was free, we made use of it. Sometimes, we felt embarassed that as seniors, we had to use what was left out and remaining of the UG classes. We felt left out in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni students were afraid to talk anything about the department. They had escaping out of jail feeling. They did not even want to visit for alumni meet. Hardly 2 to 3 people would come. They were those, who treated the professors favourably and they got the same treatment in return.

Faculty

3.5

They were quite strict, biased, and well educated. They treat you well, only if you keep praising them, give them food, invite them for house functions. They hold grudges and take revenge. If they sense slightest disrespect, they will purposely scold you, give you punishments, taunt you.

Thiagarajar School of Management - [TSM], Post Graduate Diploma in Management [PGDM]
Reviewed on Mar 1, 2020

Admission:

Thiagarajar School of Management being one of the premier institutes in South India and PGDM being its Flagship Program, I had no hesitation in choosing Tsm. The high advantage of PGDM is that you will be involved with a lot of practical sessions rather than classroom learning. Moreover, PGDM is offered only by institutes recognized by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and TSM has been also awarded NBA and NAAC Accreditation. Pgdm is where you can build your soft skills and the curriculum is flexible and does not have to follow university standards and also can be changed by the institutes according to the industry requirements. For admission, You need to take up entrance tests like MAT.CAT,XAT,CMAT and the candidate must have 3 years of bachelor's degree from a recognized university by the UGC. Candidates can apply for admission once the dates are released and the shortlisted candidates need to attend the GD followed by the PI. Candidates from Tamil Nadu can take up the state level entrance examination TANCET and students can apply for counseling and selected candidates are exempted from the GD/PI process and can directly take up admission.
