Course Curriculum Overview

4

There are mulltiple courses provided by the college which includes courses in Banking and Insurance, Management studies, Accounting and Finance, IT Courses, Science upto 12th. Although I can give information about my course only and I have very less knowledge about the rest. My course which is B.Com is pretty medicore compared to rest of the subjects available in Commerce, the reason i took B.com was that I was preparing for CA as well. The syllabus of B.com is not very hard and the college makes sure that the students gets all his doubts and important cases marked before the college as well as the university exams. The college completed the course well before the time of exams to ensure multiple proper revisions so that the below average students in my class had no difficulty to retain the syllabus. The faculty member gave various real life examples tieing with the cases in syllabus so that the student could connect the syllabus to real life situations.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee i paid for my course which was B.Com was 20-21000/year. The college gives option whether to opt for IT subject which is optional, the student needs to go to the IT LAB almost every alternate day, I had opted for IT subject so I had to pay around ?3500/year for IT LAB fees. The fee if compared to the facilities and infrastructure provided by the college is acceptable. I was ranked 3rd in Second yr B.com and therefore i got a cheque worth ?1000 from college as well. The college announces various financial assistances during its curriculum.

Campus Life

5

The campus Environment is very much positive. It is one of the main reasons why I was leaning to pay 20,000 a year as compared to other colleges. There are big windows with curtains that allow natural light to pass and block whenever required. Every classroom has 2 Ceiling Air conditioner to maintain proper ventilation. There is a Green board for chalk and white board for the Hitachi Projector. The classroom is well lit and. Properly cleaned. Overall I would rate the infrastructure more tha sufficient and very good as compared to other college within the vicinity.

Admission

For me, I lived in Powai area, and my college is pretty close to my house. I can get to my college within 5 minutes with a 2 wheeler, this was my prime reason to take admission into this college. One more important reason for me to take admission in this college was that it was saving my moey for travelling and most importantly, time of travelling, which was beneficial for me as I was preparing for CA with regular college. I would reach home within 5-10minutes which would leave me sufficient time for CA course travelling.

Faculty

4

The faculty provided by the college is professional and sophisticated. They are open for all meaning we can contact them as their numbers are shared on the whatsapp group so the students can anytime leave a call or message to their respective faculty for any concerns the student is facing. Faculty to student ratio is around 100 which is fairly managed by each faculty. Also the faculty turnover is very less. There are teachers who are teaching for more than a decade.

The course is very good on paper. University has given like 8 subjects from which we have to choose 5. But this college itself chooses 5 subjects and students now have to learn only them ... Like in 3rd year sem 5 there was subject international finance I wanted to study that because baf course is all about finance but the college had subject management. So yeah be prepared for this. My colleges reputation is not that great because other city students come too. So for about teaching it's average

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is recommended for the students who want to pursue a career in the finance field or if someone who is looking to a course like CFA, this bachelors degree becomes handy. This course teaches you about the financial spectrum of the whole world and gives you an intricate understanding about different financial instruments and their relevance in the society. It teaches one of the most sought after skills in today's world, that is financial literacy. Still I think some of the subjects introduced under the NEP are completely irrelevant such as EVS and IKS. We as college students need to give quality time on some professional subjects, not that these subjects are not important but they need to be emphasised in the early classes. There are three internal exams of 10 marks each and 20 minutes for each paper. The end sem exam is of 30 marks for minor subjects and 60 marks for major subjects. Also I feel that the difficulty level is okay.
