Remarks
75% attendance is mandatory, or else a student will be debarred from giving the external examinations of any particular semester. This means that some students only attend classes for attendance and not for learning, which shifts the focus from learning to being pressurised to sit in classes for attendance. This is the only disadvantage of studying in Symbiosis.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is up to date and is modified to reflect the changing trends. Five specialisations are being offered (marketing, international business, finance, business analytics and human resource management). It is the only college in Delhi NCR to offer business analytics as a specialisation. (The other colleges are only in Chennai) There are internal tests and external tests for each subject. Topics such as financial statement analysis and quality management are taught. Emphasis is on research based subjects like marketing research.
Placement Experience
An annual internship and job fair is held for the students of the college. Various companies have provided internship and job opportunities to the students. Recently, Eventopreneurs, KPMG and Outlook have visited the campus to recruit students for jobs and internships. The average stipend a student can expect is Rs 6000/ month.
College Events
There are three main events. 1. Symaroh- The annual cultural fest of Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies, Noida. Music, theatre, poetry and dance events are held in this fest. Informal events such as cooking without fire and face painting are also held. 2. SYMUNC- The annual model united nations conference of SCMS Noida- It is a conference with both national and international delegates come to discuss the most hot topics that are being discussed around the world, such as climate change. 3. Symperia is the annual sports fest of the college. Sports such as football and chess are played.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is expensive as it is around 2 lakhs per year. However, it is worth it as there are air conditioned classrooms, the best of faculty members, workshops and guest lectures and the best of the curriculum that one can expect to have while pursuing a BBA degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not availed by me. But scholarships are offered to students who have exceptional achievements (such as having gotten a book published/ have national level achievements in sports). Loan facilities are not available.
Campus Life
The computer lab is very good and softwares such as SPSS are present which are helpful to students making projects such as research papers. A basketball court is present within the campus for the students. There is a gym present in the campus which is free to use for all of the students. Societies such as dance society, music society, debating society, Sympatrika team (members who are involved in the annual magazine of the college) and specialisation based societies (marketing, finance societ) are present.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are extremely helpful and supporting. It is a ragging free campus and there is no need to worry about any kind of bullying in the campus. A proper mentoring cell is made available to junior students in which senior students mentor the junior students regarding any personal/ professional issues that they might be facing.
Faculty
The faculty is very good and is always there to help with the doubts that the students have. The full time faculty members are always there to support the students who have a desire to learn more. Only the best of the teachers are recruited. Faculty feedback is taken from the students at the end of every semester as well.
