Course Curriculum Overview

4

BDS course compare to MBBS seems more comfortable for me as you dont have to go through any emergency call duty or night shifts or anything. The medical field where you will get a 8 to max 7 working hour like an office job and you do get paided well if you have the skill and communication skill. The curriculum has changed now , the curriculum i followed has improved a lot with more specifications and life skills thats required for a doctor/dentist to survive the outside competition. More focus on practical contents like crown cutting and access opening should be provided as that is the competitive content you need outside. I frequently got exams coming one after another which was a good thing that made me fast and more adapted to the main exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

I did a 1 year internship in my college with a stipend of rs 4400 monthly which many of other dental colleges didnt even provided with. There are college which give a maximum upto 6k and conpare to that 4.4k was not bad and not good either.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid an year wise tution fee of 305000 in addition to that i had to pay 10000 as caution fee which will be given back after the course completion apart from that i had to pay 43000 hostel fee and monthly around 3k for mess fee monthly. Category students didnt have to pay any tution fee or hostel fee Some people got egrants scholarship about which i dont know have much knowledge.

Campus Life

4

Compare to other colleges ny college do conduct many programs both academic and non academic type. Annualy we do celebrate festivals like onam christmas iftar in a spendid way and annualy we conduct a college day named amalgam and interhouse which will go on for atleast 3 weeks with last 2 complete days for arts fest and we do have a massive convacation program. We do celebrate sports competitions and we actively participate in kuhs festivals and interdents competitions held in other colleges and recently we even conducted a vanitha marathoon and was a big success. We do have active clubs and activities eg. movie club which plays movies once a week nature club and so on. We do flashmob and awarness workshops on important days.

Hostel Facilities

3

I got a single bed with pillow and an almirah and the room was spacious with an attached bathroom i shared a room with other two of my batchmates. The meal was a nutrious rich meal with meat fish and egg and vegeatables alternately included in my meal. The hostel fee was 43000 per annum and a mess fee of around 3000 was given every month. The menu kept changing a lot and was not bad not good.

Admission

I was interested to join PSM dental college Thrissur which was close to my native place but I was not able to get in due to my rank in the NEET exam but right now I think that was a good thing cause compare to PSM, Educare has much more infrastructure and campus compatability . I got spot admission in Mop up conducted in Trivandrum and acquired seat in my college. I got rejected from PSM dental college because i was not able to acquire good rank in NEET exam. I got admission through mop up conducted in Trivandrum and I had around 17000 rank in KEAM so i was able to get admission in merit quata with a fee.

Faculty

5

Well the faculty to student ratio is not bad every student get their own mentor for guidance which is a good thing. We had basic science subjects and those teaching these subjects did put a great effort for us and the clinical staff was not easy to approacg at first when you enter into clinical subjects but eventualy you will understand the rhythm and will get the hang of it. The exams a pretty tough and needs a great deal of seriousness to pass. We did have internal exams and model exams and practical exams which will mentaly prepare us for the university exam. Around 100 students writing the main exam only a 40-60 percent clear the exam but the ratio keeps on improving. The practical exam is not so difficult compare to the theory exam. Out of 70 marks 35 mark is required to pass and out of 10 internal mark you will have to get atleast 5.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We can be the reason for someone's confident smile is the reason for my decision to choose this course. Prosthodontology is the specific aspect of this curriculum that influenced me. If the student go strict to the curriculum that will definitely reflect in the real world. this makes the student more confident in the career. The available teaching methods are good enough. As i mentioned each level has its own toughness. if we stick on to the curriculum, and the path paved by the facilities the difficulty level will be much lower

Course Curriculum Overview:

No one tells you the dark side of the course or even if they do little do we understand..this course is never as expected..it requires a lot of patience, and strength to hold on yourself when the whole campus is against you and you have to work as a one man army. it's just powerpoint presentation and reading it aloud in class and it's done...it we who have to work. There are 2-3 internal exam but none of these marks are considered for the last University exam...it's all what we score for the final exam..there's another model exam then lots of small tests

Since I love arts the course helped in learning new arts and improving hand skills. The course require a lot of hand skills. And many works are given by the faculty members to improve the art skills. These aspects influenced my decision to chose this course. Areas for improvement -For first year separate the papers for biochemistry and physiology is important. Since both the subjects are tough and lot to learn

When I joined the course I'm not much interested in dentistry but after getting deep into it I started liking it. A class consists of 60 students. In the first yr, we have 4subjects anatomy physiology biochemistry, and dental anatomy&oral histology. All the faculty are very supportive. Qualified teachers have their methods of teaching. They conduct lots of class tests as well as model exams which are very helpful for the students to write university exams confidently.

Remarks:

Good college to learn from but the management is very expensive and not very supportive but otherwise good faculty where we can learn if we try to. Good inpatient count so we get to have better experience and our quota forces us to do more.
