Course Curriculum Overview
This curriculum includes everything that is needed for being a civil aspirant, knowledge of law and constitution, the structure and working of police and everything related to different government departments. This course also has parts for management students or people who want to pursue their career in corporate world, and it ofcourse includes security analysis of institutions and provided a thorough understanding of security and safety. The practical part is too vast and regular visits are often important for the better understanding, also the curriculum provides internships half yearly and dissertation in the last semester which will be shaping students in the field of research. The exams are conducted on semester basis and one to two days gap is there for each exam. The written part is of 50 marks only so it is pretty easy to prepare for.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees taken is half yearly that is semester wise. I've paid 15000 for one sem, 30000 for two. Registration fees was 750 INR and no other fees required. The same fee structure is applied for every category of students. The scholarship is given to merit holders on a semester basis, which is under the name of SRA (student research assistants), this includes the interview of merit holders students for this position and then if selected the semester fees is returned, though the students have to work under the faculties for that period.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is not very pleasing, but smart classes are well worked with regular wifi connection all over the campus. A cultural day is observed annually and sports competitions occur occasionally very often. Badminton competition named aaghaz is held every year and students are sent to university games as well. The library consists of several books related to cyber security, police administration, competitive books like polity and forensic as well. Law books are also available. Students are encouraged to post monthly blogs on the university website and seminars are held oftenly
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility includes a bed, almirah, a cooler fan and everything basic, we can use electric kettle though, mess facility is convenient as well, they provide us with tiffin for holidays and for dinner to avoid any inconvenience, the menu is pre decided and well followed. The hostels given to us are off campus and a vehicle facility is provided for all hostel students to pick and drop. Meal quality is okayish but better than most of the mess. Though the hostel fee is a bit hefty, 8000 INR per month. Registration of the hostel is done at the time of admission.
Admission
I applied to LU and gave CUET, also have entrance for national PG college in Lucknow, got selected in all of them, I chose this university over the others because of its different approach and new curriculum, also being a defence enthusiast I found it pretty enthralling to be here in a university of defence and policing I did not get rejected by any college. Admission process to my university is pretty easy, you just fill the application form and if you get short listed then an interview call is held, then merit lists are passed . Maybe entrance would be held from upcoming years.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:10 and the faculty is truly supportive and helpful. They are very approachable and willing to help us in all possible ways. The best faculties include one from the police administration department, he is always a guiding figure for every student and tries to make the student grow on a personal level as well. The exam pattern include semester exams both internal and external, apart from that students are also marked on the basis of class presentation and attendance. Mostly students fail because of the lack of attendance. Course curriculum is relevant for anyone who is a civil aspirant or a security enthusiast, also special lectures from defence people is always a must for every defence aspirant.
