Course Curriculum Overview

4

The mbbs course curriculum in our college is quite comprehensive and relevant , emphasizing integrated learning with early clinical exposure and elective options. It prepares students for real world applications. However , there are areas for improvement, such as updating the curriculum to include contemporary topics like telemedicine and enhancing soft skills training. Teaching methods could benefit from more active learning strategies and technology use . Exam frequency is often high with a challenging difficulty level , leading to stress . Implementing continuous assessments could alleviate pressure and promote consistent learning.

Internships Opportunities

4

Students have to compulsorily serve as an intern for one year at college's hospital. They roughly get a stipend of rs 12,000. Internships aren't very hectic here . Seniors guide you through every medical case to its best .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is same for all irrespective of their category . There is a tuition fee of rs12,69,319 which has to paid for 4.5 years , alongwith this there is hostel fee which is rs1.5 lakh for non AC room and rs1.75 lakh for AC room. In addition there is miscellaneous fee of rs85,600 . During admission you also have to pay security fee of rs3 lakh which is refunded at the end your course . Note that hostel is compulsory for your entire course. To sum up , one need to pay approximately 18.3 lakh in the first year and total budget for entire program is approximately 70 lakh.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life at SMSR is vibrant , with numerous opportunities for social engagement through various clubs and organizations . Students can participate in cultural, academic, and recreational activities , fostering a sense of community. The annual cultural festival, ''CHRYSALIS" , usually held in March . Additionally, the "MEDICON" , a technical festival held in September, focuses on academic presentations and innovations in medical field . The library at sharda medical College is well equipped, offering range of books and journals. Classrooms are modern featuring smart boards , projectors , high speed internet access. The campus provides a variety of sports facilities including gym , basketball, badminton courts and cricket field . Regulars intra and inter college tournaments are held here .

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel is compulsory for medical students for entire program. Student can chose from ac or non AC room . Medical students generally get 2 seater room . They are provided with study table , chair , cupboard, and a bed. Note that the bathrooms are not attached . There are several washrooms at the end of lobby of each floor . Hostel mess is clean and the food served is average . Students don't have to pay electricity bill since hostel is well equipped with solar facilities.

Admission

My rank wasn't sufficient to get a government medical College. Being a native of North India I considered this college because it is one of the best in North region with great infrastructure and quality education . Also one main factor that one should consider is overall budget of college . The fees of this college is definitely way too higher than government medical colleges but quite comparable and on the lower side when compared to private medical colleges . And also other colleges aren't worth the money since they don't provide good network of alumnis which is very important when one considers his/ her options.

Practical Exams: • Format: Assessments in labs and clinical settings, testing practical skills in various subjects (e.g., pathology, surgery, pediatrics). • Components: May include vivas, case presentations, and practical demonstrations. It really takes into account all the challeneges that one has to face in society as a clinician. The university exams are held on a yearly basis which include both theory and practical exams. The exams are good to pass if one studies daily. The syllabus is vast but with the help of seniors you can easily ace it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Current MBBS curriculum is purely clinical based and hence clinical postings are crucial. It is mandatory to attend them and strict actions are taken if you fail to do so. This curriculum prepares you for your NEETpg or NExT. Exams held are semester 1,2 and pre professionals and then professional. Timing 3 hours and difficulty level is okay. Mostly questions come from important topics.
