Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our curriculum is very good and it covers everything that is needed to become a doctor. The exams are quite difficult which is needed. Even if anybody fails the exam they keep another one in a month which allows us to save a year and continue with the rest of our peers

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Our internship is for one year and it covers all the departments in our hospital. All students get placed in different departments in our college according to a timetable. Our stipend is 7000 rs including accommodation. The stipend is quite less considering the work load. We have to do night shifts sometimes. We have MICU, ICCU, SICU duties. We also have casualty and labor room duties. We cover all departments including general medicine surgwry obg paediatrics dermatology radiology lab medicine psychiatry etc. We also 3 months posting in health centres and taluk hospitals in rural areas. Overall the experience we get from working this one year paves the way for us to become really good successful doctors and also get a lot of knowledge.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Year wise fees we pay is 70000. I did not get any scholarship benefits. In this, the hostel fees including food was 10000. I belong to obc category. My batchmates of NRI seat pay much more than me. Scholarships are available for financially challenged students.

Campus Life

4

We have a lot of programmes in our college, much more than other colleges. Everyone comes together and there's dance and music and singers are invited. Convocations are usually held in july and there are freshers day programmes held whenever a new batch joins. We also have arts day with a lot of programmes and it goes on for as long as a month. Our library is very big and we have all books needed available there from where we are allowed to borrow. And there are also facilities to sit and study from the library alone or with our friends. Our classrooms are very big and can accommodate as much as 250 students. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and projectors. Many sports events take place in our college on a regular basis. Sometimes within the college between different batches and sometimes between different colleges. We have a very big basketball court badminton court and football ground. We have a student's union in our college which conducts programs

Hostel Facilities

3.5

3 people stay in one room with an attached bathroom. The rooms are quite big with three beds tables and cupboards. Food is not very bad and we get four meals including breakfast lunch tea and dinner. For breakfast we have dosas appams puri etc with egg curry upma etc. For lunch we get many side dishes such as vegetable fry fish fry etc. Dinner is also good with biryani twice a week. Hostels are quite affordable considering all the facilities available here. Now im doing my internship and ive rented a room close to my college in manassery.

Admission

I mainly applied to this college because it is close to my house. Otherwise too our college is very famous in our state. All the good doctors work here in our hospital. The fees structure and the facilities available are superior to most other colleges in the state. I applied to another college called MES medical college and Jubilee medical college which are quite far from my place. But i did not get accepted there. Admission is based on allotments. We have a first allotment then a second allotment and then there is a pop up allotment. It depends on the score achieved in NEET UG exam. I did not get allotted in Mes medical college because my score was not enough for that college. It is a very competitive field and its very difficult to get admission in the colleges.

Faculty

4

We have really good faculty in our college. They are mostly very approachable and nice. We have 2 internal exams and one final exam every year. We also have a model exam before our final university exams. Quite a few students fail to clear the exams and for that there are SAY exams within a month.
