Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose BAMMC since I had interest in the media field and I wamted to communicate better. The course has subjects which teach more practical and worldly things rather than the book based things. The teachers give assignments like making a documentary, short flims and analysis on certain articles which keeps us up with the actual world and makes us well practised to face the work life after graduation. The class timings are 7 am to 11.30 am which is fairly good since we get the whole day to be productive. The exam timings are kept according to the convience.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since I'm new to this college and am a first year student I don't have much idea but it provides internship on jobs like media interns, journalism, social media management, digital marketing, film production companies, PR or public relations interns, film making, market research intern and many more

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

For BAMMC previously knows as BMM which is Bachelor or Mass Media and Communication. My yearly fees Is 70,340 INR which is divided into 2 semesters per semester 35,170 INR. It has 6 semesters per semester of 5-6 months. The whole course is of 3 years. The charge of everything is included in the per sem fees itself. Fees is the same for everyone. The cut off percentage for BAMMC was 65%.

Campus Life

4.5

TCSC has huge annual fest known as TAARANGAN which is a 2 day fest and includes music, art, dj, food, etc it is an amazing one to attend also it is inter college. The other 1 day fest which is HUGE Is TRISHNA here only the college students are allowed and it takes place in the thakur home ground and many famous celebrities and DJ's are invited for entertainment. Both these festivals include activities like fashion show, singing competition, dance competitions and various other activities. Also there are other smaller scale fests conducted by the students of the departments it self such as CORTOKINO by BAMMC is an international flim festival. And many more..

Admission

I didn't apply for any other college since I had only TCSC in my mind and I got into it in first try itself since the admission process was not too hectic and easy. It is one of the best colleges of Mumbai and it has amazing facilities and the college area is great and has everything available near it. As I said the cut off my 65% for BAMMC and it is different for other courses same is for the fees.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty actually does consider their students and help them whenever needed. They're very approachable and polite and are always ready to provide help and guide everyone. I personally like the teachers very much since they're pretty chill and not too strict. There are 2 written exams and 1 assignment based per semester. CE 1 which is of 20 marks and is a written exam. CE 2 is assignment based (internals) Then the final Semester of maximum 60 marks and minimum 40 marks. Per semester there are 6 credit scores which can be achieved by filling the credit hours in extra curricular activities such as joining the cultural team, yoga, gender sanitization and green club, etc.

Yes, Xavier's does offer placements to students of all courses but the students of BMS, BA economics and BScIT courses get placed the most. The placement process starts from the third year, 5th semester. The highest package offered is around 24LPA and the least would be 4-5LPA. Around 30% of students get placed out of the people who option for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Just depends upon you on how you think about something which is more creative and no structure as a exam pattern or as our education system works. It's very creative. You get to learn a lot of new things, but with that as we know that it's a creative failed, so it just depends upon what type of approach you take.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to opt for the BMM course because many writers, directors, actors and ad experts and artists have studied in Khalsa College. The curriculum prepares you for real world applications by not only teaching within the portion but also outside the portion. Various recreational activities take place at the college. Areas for improvement would be to decrease the over importance of giving attention to the attendance and project submission. It's college not school the teachers soften a little and try to give students the freedom of exploring other things too. The frequency and timings if the exams are usually the same as ither colleges. There are 6 semesters carried out in three years which are 2 or 3 hours long.

Placement Experience:

From the first year students become eligible for internship and placement. Placement drive takes place in the college campuses, Sakal, Flipkart, news channel etc. Placement is also provided by department teachers, industry experts, and alumni. In the third year BMM department, there is an internship subject of 100 marks in which they have to do compulsory jobs and internships. So 100% students do internships and 70% of them are placed. I always had an interest in the animation and only BMM department of Smt. P. N. Doshi Women's College offers animation specialization That too at very less fees. Because in other places the fees for animation are above Rs 1 lakh. But in this institute fees so less only you will get 20k to 25k fees for animation degree In animation, we have been taught such skills as graphic designing, web designing, photoshop, logo, brochure designing, film making, video editing etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements for BMM students are practically non-existent. And even for students from other departments, the job profiles that usually come in are for BPOs and in-store sales support. Most packages range from 2LPA to 3.5LPA. This year, there were notable entries like TCS and Ikea but the job profiles were still menial. Although, alumni support is huge and helps most students in job finding.

Remarks:

This college is known as the best college for arts in the city. It takes only the finest students which was a driving factor behind me selecting this college. The approach towards education taken by this college is quite novel. We don't have textbooks but have to rely on taking down notes and doing a lot of reading.
