Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choosed this course because i have always wanted to do data science and ai. Employment is rising in this industry so had to choose. Doing the same course in DOT,SPPU was because of the provisional admission we were getting, obviously it was their fishing method. They were freshly starting bsc( data science and Ai ) course, amd ours is the very first batch so we had some advantages and drawbacks. But now if you are thinking about taking admission here you have take the required entrance exam. I would say this college is worth investing your time and money, it helps you to have hands on practice, you start to get small project from the very first year of your course. Keeps you invested in your studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am studying at department of technology, sppu main campus. As we know there a lot of huss in the market for data science amd AI so i would say 154000 yearly fees makes it reasonable. Aslo the department didn't let us avail any scholarships or government scheme , because they told us all the students from our batch had provisional admission which means without taking any entrance exam, there wasn't any merit rank. Well that explains because when you go to avail any scholarship it requires you to hold any merit rank basically you need to give common entrance exam (MHT-CET) . OKAY, so basically here our yearly tution+ lab + other eatra things there might be is 15000 which you have to pay in 2 installment 75000 1st and 75000 next. Other than this we have admission challan around 2000(varies yearly) and exam form fee around 2000. So your fees goes around 154000/155000 per year.

Campus Life

3

We don't have any clubs in our department for now there might be in future. But we do celebrate all the events and festivals in our department. Faculty also shows their 100% involvement. Faculty never stys aloof from all the events they have equal involvement as our students. We have comfortable and spacious classrooms. We enough lights and fans aslo we have AC in some of our classrooms . Every class haa projectors. Our college has adapted modern teaching techniques.

Admission

I have talked earlier also i have taken admission to this college only because of the provisional admission i got without giving any donation money or giving CET exam. I just have to pay yearly 154000 and that's it. No more extra penny for anything. Admission process was quite smooth all the management staff was cooperative, never pressured for anything or asked for any money during the whole process. I don't think i hae ran errands just to take a single signature from anyone or anything regarding admission or rather any other processes. Students who took admission this had to take the entrance exams held by the department itself. It was an online examination. And cutoff was something around 96 percentile.

We have good enough number of teachers. Considering the fact that all these semester we had 2 teachers per subject one is for theory and another one is for practical. All the teachers and students have likely good relationship. Teachers are quite approachable never says no for any favour we ask from them. Teachers are quite understanding and helpful. Talking about exams, we have yearly 2 exam only mod semester examination which is of 25 marks (5 question for 5 marks each) and end semester examination which is of total 100 marks (including internal marks) also we have practical exam each sem. You don't have to worry about exam paper as they are pretty much easy because we don't have vast syllabus like engineering college. Limited and important subjects and limited syllabus (helps to have better understanding of the subject).

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
