Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum followed here is the best for someone who is passionate about optometry and the best about the course is that u don't have to examine the patients but also can prescribe them medicines for so. The frequency of each exam is 1.5 months in between two units. The difficulty level of the exams is accurate enough as per the teaching and one can easily pass the exams if they follow the course with dedication.
Fees and Financial Aid
The overall yearly fees of first year of graduation starts from Rs.90,000 and every years increases by only 5% of previous year fees paid. All the batchmates have the same amount of fees except for the International students.Their fees in the first year starts from 1,50,000 and increases 5%yearly. The college unfortunately does not provide any scholarships for students.
Campus Life
Bharati Vidyapeeth deemed to be University has the nicest campus to roam around and free your mind and also lot different events going on in the campus for other colleges each month. Netra is the annual festival that is held every year in the college in the month of February. There are variety of books available in the library and each student has easy access to any of the books. Each class of the college has E-TV learning along with white boards. Due to lesser strength of students in the college, the college still doesn't have any clubs or so.But the faculty is looking towards making a few.
Admission
I also applied to the D.Y .Patil college of optometry. I also got chosen there but I chose this college over that because Bharati Vidyapeeth School of Optometry has the best theory based learning any college of optometry provides. The admission process to the college includes applying for an entrance exam based on 12th class knowledge ,that goes out in the month of June, each student who passes the exam is called during the counselling session and interviewed followed by the admission of the student into the college.
Faculty
There are 4-5 subjects in each year and thus one teacher for each class. The ratio is approx. 1:5. One of the best facilities is Mahima Chandra mam, because she is truly thorough with her subjects(2). There are 2 semesters each year and each semester is conducted once in 6 months, and there two unit exams before each semester.
