Course Curriculum Overview
I chosed for the Humanities and personally Geography is the best subject to know about the earth we live. The course offered us a detail study of every required information about the earth. Moreover it covered GIS and Remote which is an advanced approach of geography to understand earth. The only thing i felt concerning is that the results are released a bit late. Which release us from getting promoted to another semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is semester-based, ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 INR per semester. Exam fees vary between 500 and 1,000 INR per paper. For scholarships, if you belong to the ST category, you can apply for the Umbrella Scholarship Scheme, which provides a minimum of 14,000 INR per academic year.
Campus Life
The college week is the most celebrated week in synod college. Student are given chance to participate in maximum non-curricullam activities like sports, singing, dancing beauty pageants etc. The libraries is loaded with all range of books. The classroom have a smart tv connection for easy teaching and understanding for the teachers and students. The college also offers participation in NCC and NSS which enhance our student qualification. Also there are many clubs like gym, dance and singing.
Admission
I applied for ST EDMUNDS college for the course of BA HONS Economics and St Anthony's for BA hons English. But i chose Synod college because i wanted to pursue Geography and it offered remote sensing and GIS. The admission procedure is simple you have the visit the college website and go on with the procedures and some 100-200 application fees.
Faculty
The faculty members are sufficient for the 101 students in our department. I particularly liked our HOD D.Nongrum sir, for his approachable demeanor and innovative teaching methods. All the teachers were supportive and always willing to assist whenever approached. I pursued a BA hons in Geography, a 3 years course with 6 semesters including practical studies and exams. The curriculum covered all the necessary topics for a BA degree. The exams are challenging but manageable with proper preparation.
