Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is pretty comprehensive. It's got everything a research student needs to step further into research. At the same time, the students interested in going into the industry are more than happy because the curriculum does provide hands on experience

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The internships provided by the college are nothing great. It's best to go out there to find your own. I think the placement department of this college is always asleep. They provide the contacts but don't help any further. Whereas they do conduct seminars on higher studies. So students who are interested in going abroad for higher studies will definitely be helped.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee structure of my particular course (genetics and biochemistry) 1st year - 80k of which I got a 10k concession due to scoring good marks From second year onwards it's been 65k for every course. Of course scholarships and concessions do exist. One must apply for it at the right time and place. The entire fee structure is properly broken down into categories such as lab, sports facilities, classroom etc etc.

Campus Life

4

The social aspect of the campus was very bleak when I joined because the country was still recovering from covid. But as time passed, the cultural festivities and clubs started to make their comeback. There are currently about 6-7 clubs that are running in the college. The college also holds conferences about twice a year which is great exposure for all students. Along with fests and seminars and talks, I'd say the social aspect of the college is pretty good to have a balanced academic life.

Admission

This particular college provides a course that few other colleges in Karnataka provide. Genetics is hardly available in very few colleges. Especially with the intention to research. I had applied to various other colleges and gotten selected also into each one of them But chose this college simply due to it's availability of the genetics and biochemistry course.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is just okay. The chemistry and biochemistry faculty is probably some of the best you'll find in any university in Karnataka. The biotechnology faculty is very knowledgeable and are ready to help at all times The genetics faculty can be a bit overwhelming at times. But they mean well The microbiology faculty are slightly difficult to work with.
