Course Curriculum Overview

3

College is overall okay and the staffs are somewhat helpful. Labs are clean. Tests are conducted regularly. Exams are of 3 hours. Question papers are of moderate level and include almost everything that the teaching staffs cover in class.

Internships Opportunities

3

We have our internship in our own college. But they do not pay any stipend to any student during internship which is very bad. They can at least pay 1000 per student. The internship is another year which is 4 + 1 year internship

Fees and Financial Aid

400000 per year tuition fees, 125000 per year hostel fees with ac room, 4500-5500 mess fees, 14000 exam fees per year I belong to OBC category We have to buy dental materials and machines every once in a while which costs us our own money

Campus Life

2.5

Infrastructure is okay. Mostly, for prostho and dental materials, we have to buy our own things and machines which often costs a lot of money from our own pocket. Sports and activities and celebrations occur often and are celebrated in a good way including students and teachers. Some classes don't have ac and have students over 80 in one classroom. Some projectors don't work. Some cameras don't work.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel has an elevator which is a plus point. The rooms are all double or triple sharing and are very small and pricey. They took fees for ac rooms but didn't provide ac and returned the money back for the ac. The food is not that good and the hostel manager is very rude and rowdy.

Admission

I was looking for an affordable BDS college in south India and Balaji Dental College was the most affordable. I put this college as my first option during my first round of counselling and happened to have scored the seat in the college in the first round.

Faculty

3

Minimum 2 staffs per department is available. Some faculties are really understanding and kind while some are rude and pass racist comments indirectly (I am from Arunachal Pradesh). Dr. Sumathy, Head of 1st year Anatomy Department is really kind and understanding and always helpful whenever we need them. Dr. Heema, from Oral Histology Department is also very kind and helpful and understanding Dr. Sathyapriya, from anatomy department 1st year , she targets students from north and northeast a lot. And she often makes fun of students names who are from northeast India. Dr. Mathangi, from 1st year Biochemistry Department, she makes assumptions and often passes rude comments towards students from north and northeast India.

Course Curriculum Overview:

.I honestly am not very interested in the course and still trying to adapt to it .The course would either lead you to the path of MDS in several departments and thereafter a Phd or simply a BDS degree would also make you a dentist. . The course needs more simplification and easy to understand books, easy to understand lectures and easy to follow practical work to get a knack of it. . Internal assessments are held almost once in every 2.5 to 3 months and a year end university examination that includes theory and practical exam that requires students to pass in order to be promoted to the next year. . Anatomy, Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Pharmacology are the hardest. Physiology, Microbiology and Oral pathology and Histology are the easiest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is vast. But dental also deals with practical skills. So it's not that hard. The exams can be hard if you prepare at the last minute. But otherwise it's manageable. We write 3 IA and one final paper. And we get to write a mock paper before the finals. We'll be having model practical exams as well before the final practical exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum in the first year is quite good and gives a strong base . Subjects like anatomy, physiology and biochemistry are detailed and help us understand the basics needed for later years . Curriculum helps us to improve skills through labs and dissection . Exams happens regularly- we have internal assessments every months , class tests, slip tests, practicals and university exam. The frequency is fine , but the difficulty depends on the preparation . The one year compulsory internship with stipend is also very helpful in moulding us as a great dentist . Overall , the curriculum does a great job in laying down the foundation . Because of the high patient flow our hand skills will also become improve. So it helps in professional growth .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I specifically wanted to be a dentist as there were no dentists in my family. The curriculum does educate you on patient communication, ability to handle patients well and critical thinking skills such as bls training and high tense situations. There can be more hands on training and patient prorograms and camps. Exams are held once in every year and difficulty is mild to moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just always like art and biology! Dentistry was one field that included art and biology at the same time! This is what influenced me to choose this course! The college prepares you the the NEET MDS exam that is what is the NEXT exam I've talked about. And as dentists we become very precised and and excellent with out hands skills and digital designing better than students of other colleges. I don't think I have anything to say for that where they should improve..I like they're style. The NEXT exams get completed within 1 week or 2 and the University exams gets over by a month
