Review of UPES dehradun

Computer science course is highly chosen course with a good scope. The college does not push you to do stuff but they have opportunities for someone who is looking for one. I think the college can control the student intake which would improve a lot of things.

The college provides with many opportunities but they won't force any student to do internship and learn other skills. But a student who really want to learn something and do something, the college provides with the opportunities .

Students are eligible for campus placements from fourth year. Many big companies visit here like Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Highest pakage is 50 lakhs and average is 6-7 lakhs per annum. Some students are not eligible to sit in campus placements.

Tution fees is 2.5 lakhs per semester, registration fees is 5000, security deposit is 20,000 and other charges are around 50,000. Scholarship is provided but you have to maintain a certain cgpa for it. There is also scholarship for girl child and domicile students. You have to have minimum 50% in your 12th to be eligible for this college. My hostel fees is 2 lakhs per year.

There are 2 main fests, Uurja and ojas. Big singers come in Uurja fest. Variety of books are available in the library and we can issue books online also. Almost every sport is available to play in the campus. there are many clubs one can join which helps in socialising.

I love outside the campus and my fees is 2 lakhs per annum. I live in a double sharing room and the hostel provides with accommodation to the college. They provide us with a four time meal and quality is okay.

I got accepted in many other colleges but they were really far from where I live and dehradun is the education centre of india. My grades weren't good enough to get me into IITs and IIITs. UPES has it's own entrance examination and it also accepts jee marks and direct addmission. One must have a minimum percentage of 50% in 12th

There are 35 students in one batch and 2 batches sir together in a class so a total of around 70 students sir in a single classroom. Some faculties are really good where as some faculties just care about coming to the class. Continuous quizzes and vivas take place but there is mid sem examination and end sem examination in one semester. Attendance criteria is very strict and they don't allow them to appear for the examination. They fail a good amount of students.
