The Oxford College

I liked dentistry, so i chose this course. Curriculum is based on rajiv gandhi university so it is good. It prepares you well for the real world, as you get hands on experience too. The exams are difficult to pass theory and practical wise. They will conduct internal exams which will be considered as internal marks in your final result.

I paid ?4,70,000 yearly for 4 years, i got the merit seat after neet ug. Additional fees will be a caution deposit fee of 36,000 which will be returned during house surgeoncy as your stipend. Each category has different fees, sc st and obc category have less fees. Similarly residents of karnataka, religious minority and language minority candidates can also apply for lesser fees. There are many scholarships available also. I am from Kerala, and belong to the general category, so i had none of the benefits. Hostel fees cost around ?1,36,000 per year for a twin sharing room.

There wasnt much campus life because the campus was too small. And we were not allowed to stay over at the campus after classes and also the canteen wasnt good so nobody used to go there also. I did not go to the library much. It had a wide variety of books though. We had no fests or activities in college at first and finally had to beg to get something.

Hostel was pathetic, we used to fall sick staying in the hostel. The room was so bad, it had no cleanliness and it had no maintenance. The food was unhygienic. There was no water most of the time, no hot water, and the water had worms in it sometimes. There used to be rats all around. The food quality was very bad. It costs so much and provides so little. I finally shifted after one year.

I got this college in spot allotment. I never applied to this college, infact i had never even heard of this college up until that day. I had no other option than to choose this college. I wanted to go to ms ramaiah, but i did not get in since my rank was low. You have to pass ug neet and apply for counselling to get into this college.

Many of the good faculties have left the college. And right now many have joined, so i dont know much about them. When i was there only some had the interest to teach properly, most of them were disinterested and had a huge ego. There are no semesters, only yearly exams. Final exams every year. If you fail for more than 2 subjects then you will get 6 months back and will be in another batch called the odd batch.
