Remarks
College management is doing a good job in running the college, and doing well in maintaining the premises, as we don't have a proper ground our college lags behind in all sports related activities, which the college can improve, lack of space to develop is an issue,as the college is situated inside the city.
Entrance Preview
This is a dental college, actually i wanted to do medical in the first hand for that i prepared for AIPMT examination, now called NEET and i got heere in my final allotment me being a general student its difficult to get medical with average ranks, my rank was 5300 i am native to kerala, so this college was closer to me so i chose the college along with that, its one of the best dental college in india.
Course Curriculum Overview
Dentistry unlike many other profession, is a growing sector. Even though the field is saturated, students who passes out from good colleges always can survive easily, same as medical field, Post graduation degree has become a must thing these days, in research point of view, we are in the fastest phase of dentistry, i guess. The connection between oral cavity symptoms and many major life threatening diseases has been found out and is an area of growing interest, 3D printing can be used for dentures, and using plenipotentiary cells found in pulp can be used to cure many deadly malignant diseases theoretically.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, there is internship program in our college, its the place to do the work that we studied and worked out in pre-clinical practical classes also as an experience to get to know each departments under dentistry. it is also a time to prepare for the PG exams. in our college, its 20000 per month, for an year. Its the best year out of the five years of the course.
Placement Experience
I don't think its a good question for our field, because here we are the boss, right. most of us do preparations for PG exams, and rest a small group starts private practice, so the doubt about placements ends there and opportunities, Dentistry is a field where we create our own opportunities, if u can work hard, and i you have a fare amount of working brain, you can always win the race.
College Events
In our college we celebrate all kannada festivals, we celebrate holi, deewali, ganesh chathurthi to name a few. All the students takes part in all festivals without any issues relating to religion or anything, here everyone is the same. We have apart from the religious festivals, FRESHERS DAY, CULTURALS and other extra curricular programs, being a small college with 250 students we don't have an inter college fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees per year for a general student is 9500 along with that 2000rs goes to the final year for alumini fund library fees 50rs an year along with that there are certain funds for the festivals we celebrate in college, which is not a must to pay there are fee reductions for sc/st students and other obc students. For a student who comes through aipmt quota has a lil increased fees of 19900 in the first year and 9500 for the next three years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college do not offer any scholarships as such, but there are exemptions for fees for economically backward students, the college alumni also helps such students. college provides books and materials for such students along with that each departments, Alumni and college gives away cash awards to toppers from each subjects.
Campus Life
Campus life is colorful,we enjoy a lot friendships, canteen and canteen ka shitty food, birthday treats. Boys are less in our college, the ratio is around 1:4 Apart from the extracurricular events meantioned above we go for conferences and inter college events happening in other colleges we celebrate all festivals together as a big family,a big happy family.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are pretty spacious, which is 3 sharing. There is o special hostel fees, we only pay for the food, which is sharing basis hostel is providing enough seats for all the students for both girls and boys, if someone wanted to stay alone or need a separate room or something they can opt PGs where the average rent will be more that 4500 rs per month.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumini conducts several CDE programs which are like classes from each subject useful for private practices and Post graduation entrance exams, they also provide money for other development programs in college,
Exam Structure
We have three internal exams each year for each subject, also practical exams. we have 3,4,3,8 subjects respectively in the first, second, third and final year of the course. Adding to the lab works we have to do,second and final years are quite hectic with absolutely no time for anything else. Talking about exam days, most of them, like the exams which got over in my academic life was cool. Boys will always be boys, last minute preparations always saved the year.
Admission
Its been more than 2 years, so i am not sure about the dates i got through all india quota seats from the AIPMT exam, we had 3 allotments a that time and applications for the exam was issued in january of the same year i guess and aipmt exams is conducted by CBSE board actually its hectic the allotment procedure, but we cant blame them,so it was totally good,it also depends upon the administration section of each college, some are good and some are, you know anyway in my college it was good and orderly.
Faculty
The teachers and professes in our college are indeed world class, the HODs of certain departments are known world wide for their works in their receptive fields, apart from the academic life, they also find time to share their experiences and valuable life lessons with students, which is a good thing, especially if someone is going to do private practice, so that we don't have a repeat the same mistakes that happened to them. As in every college there will be some teachers with issues, forgetting that everything is good.
