What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure of the collage is nothing short of spectacular.
- The staff is well managed and there are regular lectures conducted
Dislikes
- in the BBA and BCA campus the boys to girls ratio is far from equal and is extremely unbalanced. In batch of 2022 there were hardly 10-11 girls and 50+ boys
- Personally i think the collage is very remote from the main city area, it is in a village and there is literally noting in the 2km radius of the collage
Course Curriculum Overview
Basically i was looking for a Business related course after 12th which led me to choosing BBA as a course and a friend reffered me to KSBA. BBA as a cirriculum claims to open up business opportunities, managerial skills and economic understanding (both micro and macro). I honestly think the cirriculum is way too backdated and is not been updated for so long, even the updates in the cirriculum are lacking. If i were to suggest a improvemnt in the course it will just be that it becomes more of a practical and understanding based cirriculum, not a rot learing competetion as it is now. I can hardly find any real world relatability with this course. I think that teachers are compelled to teach in a way that the cirriculum is designed so i don't think that it's their fault at all. Every 6 months students are expected to appear for end sem examinations and unit tests are consucted in between the ongoing semester. Students are expected to submit assignments and projects as well. difficult ofc
Internships Opportunities
We are yet to be presented a good internship opportunity. Most internships offered are basically unpaid and the ones that do have a stipend it's quite frankly negligible. In the 2nd, 4th and 6th semester the students are assigned projects to enquire about an company and to basically prepare a case study out of it. It helps in understanding the working of corporate giants.
Placement Experience
From the last month of the 5th SEM students are eligible for placements. Industry visits are pretty rare and insignificant as well. We once visited paper factory owned by khyati itself, yup they do give a excellent exposure to the networking events but not so many companies visited so far. 2.5 LPA-5 LPA is the range of packages the students generally get with very few exceptions. Talking of numbers and percentages its really insignificant, barely anyone gets placed from a batch due to multiple reasons. I am planning onto doing a MBA after BBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is charged per semester. Total fees for the fees whole course is 85000. It is split in 6 installments for 6 consecutive semesters. This above mentioned fees is inclusive of all the exam fees and lab fees etc. , Only exception being if you fail in a GU exam you will be having to pay 300-500 INR for the re-exam the next time. It does have reservations and scholarships. Annyone belonging from sc/st category will be having to submit the caste certificate and exams are conducted for general category students to drop off some amount from the initial fees.
Campus Life
The winter games is conducted in Jan/Feb as a intercollage event where students compete in various outdoor sports such as basketball, volleyball and cricket. Collage does participate in youth festival where the emphasis is laid onto sports and cultural events. Indoor games tournament is conducted during monsoon JUN/JUL where the students compete in chess, table tennis and carrom etc. In house debate competetions are held randomly. Not really a fan of the range of books in the library but they do have almost every journal in the library. The classrooms are equipped with the projectors and there are auditorium and semminar halls that have appropriate equipment to conduct events and gatherings. Sports and other activities and decent not as good as promised at the time of admission. I personally am not aware of any Student run social groups, clubs and student portals.
Admission
I did applied to multiple collages after class 12th. Chimanbhai, AU, LJ, Karnavati and Silver Oak. but honestly, most of those collages did not picked me due to subpar grades i've had. I did got rejected from most of those collages. A friend of mine in the same collage reffered me to KSBA and i was selected over there. Offline admissions are accepted and the admissions are mostly conducted via Gujrat University website as the collage is affiliated to GU. No exams were connducted just a small interview. Cutoffs keep on fluctuating yearwise and overall admission experience in KSBA was pretty smooth.
Faculty
facaulty to student ratio is pretty decent. I would say half of the faculty is extremely friendly with the students and students do have great relationship with them, but to counter them some professors are just trying to satisfy their ego by providing heavy tasks to compelete in a next to impossible time period and are not approachable at all. Favourisim is there to an extent but overall well qualified decent professors. Anne Rawat mam and nitin sir are the best. As i am still in collage i am afraid to mention the names of the fauculty that i personally dont associate with as they might be reading the review i would much rather remain on the safer side. The one major problem i think is with the sports fauculty, Sports as an activity is not paid attention upon. 60% + students do clear the examinations. The course cirriculum is Gujrat University's standard cirriculum. Not relevant at all. The internal exams/unitr tests are pretty easy.
