Likes

Teachers are very friendly and help each and every student in every aspect of study.
Books are easily available from the teachers as well as from the library.
Computer labs are clean and each computer is in working condition.

Dislikes

The size of the campus is small and there are very low sports activities.
There are no dustbins in classes which is really a important basic need.
Washrooms are also very dirty and unhygienic.

I choose this course because IT sector is leading the world right now even a small knowledge of computer is very important and helps in future. Jobs are easily available in IT sector depends upon the skills the other person has. My course covers all the main computer languages such as C, C++ , Java , python etc. The exams mainly are moderate in case of difficulty. The exam conducts for 3 hours and it is difficult for some students to cover the whole exam in 3 hours

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 32000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees has been increasing on the yearly basis by 1000 to 2000 rupees. The college is providing scholarship opportunities for the reserved caste mainly SC/ST. Also it provides scholarship for the J&K students. The fee structure per year is about 32500 rupees including University exam fee which makes it very cheap and affordable. The scholarship for lower caste varys from 25000 to 40000.

Campus Life

The annual sports meet, farewells, the freshers party, the annual day , quiz events, coding competitions etc are some of the events arranged by SL bawa college Batala. There are low sports activities throughout the year but there is only one day for sports. There are lot of books in library and are easily available.

Admission

I chose this college only because of low fee structure and friendly environment. There are many colleges which provide this course in lakhs but there is no benefit of taking admission there if you dont understand the basics of computer. It is very easy to take admission in my college, the basic creteria is the student must have completed his/her secondary education with more than 50% marks.

Faculty

There are more than 200 students in each faculty and there are friendly relations between each faculty like there is no difference. Computer department is the best faculty in my opinion and in Batala most students are opting BCA from Sl Bawa college. Each semester has approx. 5-6 exams excluding practicals. The difficulty level of exams varys from subject to subject but it is mostly moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute error free. She was laughing at such a test. She said no one does that anymore, they just type then run spell check. Technology is changing our NEEDS opinion is that curriculum should reflect our reality. No one gets paid to solve problems that have already been solved. Students should be exposed to solving problems they have not seen before but that can be solve with the content they have learned in class. This will help them develop problem solving strategies they will be able to use the rest of their lives

Placement Experience:

i can talk about college placement till now in my college, as far as i have seen, placement start after the 2nd year of BCA and 3rd year of B.tech, but first there is atest and interview. if the one who gets good marks in the paper will be selected for the next interview, otherwise he will not be selected. in my college, B.tech students get more placement because the get intership in ther last semester, though which they get placements too. till now, B.tech students have been able to placement and otherwise Bca students have did not place by college placement you will own search by non-campus placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a lot of interest in programming languages and in computer and how computer works. In future ,technology and application will be widely used . This course is appropriate for choosing according to my interest. This curriculum prepares me alot for this real world applications because future generation is totally dependent on AI tools or technology . I suggest in improvement of modernising technology, you have to focus on practicals for this curriculum. The exams are correct like starting at 9 :30 and ends at 12 :30 . Each student have different timing for their exams according to their course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA is not relevant anymore. BCA is like new BA, but a sophisticated one. Everybody's doing BCA nowadays. I can't figure out the reason. But skill based learning is lacking and sadly this course is providing nothing but degree holding unskilled graduates (most of them). Though some who really explore the skills and work on themselves are achieving good jobs.
