Course Curriculum Overview

4

My senior was doing the same course which encouraged me to take up ACCA and GCEC felt like a perfect option for the same. Curriculum is decent, according to ACCA standards. No books can teach the practical life things which remain the same here, but practical experience helps. Teaching methods were good, never faced any issue in the same. There are 2 mid terms held every semester with one final semester exam. Mid terms are based on mentors, about how they plan to prepare it.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship support is really good, everyone gets an internship within 1 month which is supported by the college. Some names are Mindspace Outsourcing company, Nstart etc. The average stipend is 5000 since its their first one, but after that everyone figures out their next internships and it depends on the skill, some even takes an internship for up to 25k.

Placement Experience

4

This is the biggest thing, while compared to other batches, our students were placed a lot. Few of them got into Cars24 in Gurgaog, followed by many who were placed in a KPO based in Jodhpur. They supported us a lot with placements but since the expectations of the students were high, since they worked for 3 years an interns so everyone expected higher and not a fresher salary. But the twist was, even if many of the students were not placed, everyone did something for themselves on their own. Everyone had enough connections and good profiles that they ended up finding much better jobs themselves, rather than the official college placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

You get 9 paper exemptions, The per semester fee for me was 46000 but now it is 50000 as per me. I also got a scholarship worth around 18k in the first year but after that, this scheme was removed, so I don't think any scholarship exists as of now. So the total course fee is approx 3 lakhs, excluding approx 90k for the 4 ACCA Papers (if you clear everything in one go). Also, there is an annual renewal fee of ACCA which is around 14000.

Campus Life

3

To be very honest, college life was a bit dull since everyone had to rush for their internships after the college hours. There were no such events held on the GCEC campus except for the freshers and some rare events, which were on a very small scale. Every year after the elections, the leaders try to come up with something new but it lasts only for a few months. Facilities in classrooms are good, mostly every class has a screen and projector. There are different clubs like sports, music etc but they stay inactive 99% of the time.

Admission

Most of the students from GCEC wanted to go to Christ University, but GCEC gave a deadline for fee submission and Christ did not even open their applications yet, which resulted in this big difference. But having no regrets, no college in India provided me with what GCEC did, which was practical experience. 3 years of practical experience is a lot which no other college provides. The admission process was good, an interview followed by a computer-based test, and then the admission letter. I am not aware of the current process but it has more or less remained almost the same. There was no application fees involved.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is great, we called them mentors because most of them had some full-time job other than just teaching, or maybe even a business. The founder is hard to find in his busy schedule but Paresh Gupta is a gem, if you have 5 minutes of conversation with him, you will learn a lot. The faculty is easily approachable, you will never find any difficulty with that. Some faculties included Surbhi Saxena, one of the best mentors. We have end-term exams after every term, passing marks are strictly 50% and all exams are on laptops or computers since it is a completely technology enabled college.

Interview Experience

4.5

The marks process was 60 or 70% or higher in the 12th class.? I gave a personal interview virtually with Mr Tushar Saini followed by an online assessment test. It was pretty simple, almost everything was from 12th class syllabus only.

i choose b.com because curriculum was relevent to my aspect, the curriculum is preparing me for my future studies is good but it is quite outdated in terms of todays world, so i would suggest 1 improvement to it, add new chapters and remove old boring chapters from curriculum. there and 6 to 8 months of gap between each semesters and they are quite tricky.
